Chapter 37 Five Years Ago It Was Bronte An hour later, Tiffany showed up at Leon's office. She stood there for a good ten minutes, but Leon, sitting in his chair, didn't say a word.

Tiffany was sure Leon was giving her the cold shoulder on purpose.

"Mr. Cooper, what's wrong with the design draft?" Tiffany asked, clearly annoyed.

Leon finally stopped flipping through his files, squinting at her with a hint of sarcasm in his eyes. "Tiffany, weren't you planning to leave Harmony City? Why start a studio?" he asked, calm as ever.

Tiffany felt a pang of guilt and touched her nose. No way she could tell Leon she stayed because she found Barry. "Why do you care?" Tiffany shot back with a chuckle.

Leon tightened his grip on his pen, his gaze turning icy. "Tiffany, the company's fashion show is in a week, and your designs are the highlight. This event can't afford any mistakes, yet you handedall the drafts in just one day. How can I be sure there won't be any issues on the day of the event?" Tiffany almost laughed out of frustration. Was Leon doubting her skills? But he was her client in this deal, after all. Plus, the contract said any issues could be discussed with her later.

If she'd known Leon would be this much of a hassle, she wouldn't have agreed to work with him for just ten million dollars.

Tiffany took a deep breath. "So, what are you trying to say?" "You need to be at the event. As long as it goes off without a hitch, our collaboration is done." Another task? Was he expecting her to work for free? Leon noticed her hesitation. He put down his pen, tapped the table lightly, and looked straight at her. "Tiffany, your stuis new. It's good to get srecognition. But if this event goes wrong, how do you think it will affect your reputation? On the other hand, if it goes well, it benefits you too, right?" Leon had a point. Tiffany's stuwas just starting out, and having Vertex Holdings Group's endorsement was a big deal.

"Alright, I promise to make sure the event goes smoothly," Tiffany agreed.

Two days later, the kindergarten's parent-child swimming activity was held at the pool. When Tiffany arrived at the children's swimming area with Sam and Flora, she saw Barry sitting alone by the pool, looking pretty down. Sam ran over to Barry, arms wide open, and hugged him. Barry's eyes lit up, and his sadness vanished. "Barry, where's Leon?" Tiffany asked, gently rubbing Barry's head, puzzled but also relieved. She'd been a bit nervous about running into Leon.

"Daddy's busy with work," Barry mumbled, looking down.

Leon never showed up for any of the kindergarten's parent-child activities. He was always too busy. This left Barry feeling isolated at school.

"Don't worry, Mommy's here with you, okay?" Tiffany said, picking up Barry and kissing his forehead.

Barry beamed, hugging Tiffany's neck and burying his head in her chest. He felt so happy. With his mommy around, he'd never have to attend these activities alone again.

Just then, a few kids gathered around them, surprised at how much Sam and Barry looked alike. "Wow, you two look so alike." Sam coughed, touched his nose, and looked very proud. "That's because... God gave us the sface! So we're good brothers!" Sam's serious but silly explanation drew the kids in, and they started playing together. Tiffany watched quietly, a relaxed smile spreading across her face.

Ten minutes later, Tiffany went to the changing room to grab their water bottles. As she passed the adult pool, she saw a familiar figure walk in.

Leon! What was he doing here? Tiffany's heart raced. She didn't want Leon to find out about Sam and Flora. Just as she was about to turn back, she spotted another familiar face-Bronte.

Bronte saw Leon and made a beeline for him, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Mr. Cooper, what a coincidence." Leon didn't see Barry around and realized he was in the wrong place. He'd been swamped with work, but Barry's sad face from this morning kept haunting him. He remembered rushing out of the cinema last time.

He hadn't spent quality twith Barry in ages. So, he decided to ditch work and cspend twith his son. Leon turned to leave, but Bronte deliberately brushed past him, showing off the "birthmark" behind her ear. Leon noticed the mark and frowned. He grabbed her wrist.

"Mr. Cooper, what's wrong?" Bronte asked, surprised.

"What's behind your ear?" "A birthmark." Bronte smiled shyly, lowering her head.

Leon stared at the birthmark for a few seconds. His eyes widened, and he looked at Bronte's face in disbelief. Could it be her? Was Bronte the woman from that night five years ago? "Mr. Cooper, why are you staring atlike that? You're makingblush," Bronte said coyly, her voice dripping with sweetness.

"Miss Langley, I have a question for you." Leon's eyes were intense, his tone gentle. "What is it?" Bronte looked up at him.

"Five years ago, in the car..." Leon began, and Bronte quickly nodded, smiling shyly. "Yes! Five years ago, I went out for sair and saw you, Mr. Cooper. I approached to ask if you were okay, but you pulledinto the car, and then we..." Just a heads up: is the only place to read the complete version of this book for free. Not far away, Tiffany caught bits and pieces of their conversation. So Bronte and Leon? Had they slept together? Tiffany's chest tightened.

Leon breathed heavily. He couldn't believe the woman he'd been searching for was right in front of him.

"Then why didn't you cto findthe next day? I went to the airport m looking for the woman from that night, but I found someone else. I've spent five years searching for you, but you never showed up." Leon stared at her, nervous.

Bronte stepped back, biting her lip, tears welling up in her eyes. "Mr. i Cooper, you married Tiffany back I then I liked you all along, but I didn't want to be the other woman in your marriage. I thought you must have liked Tiffany to marry her." "I don't like Tiffany," Leon said, his voice low.

Tiffany wasn't surprised by his words. But she couldn't bear to hear any more. She laughed bitterly and turned to leave.

Meanwhile, Sam, Flora, and Barry were sitting by the pool. When they saw Tiffany approaching with a sad face, they quickly went to comfort her.

"Mommy, what's wrong? Did someone upset you?" Sam asked, holding her hand with concern.

Tiffany felt the warmth of his hand and slowly cback to her senses. She patted Sam's head, smiled, and shook her head.

Flora hugged Tiffany and comforted her in a sweet voice. "Mommy, are you tired? The teacher said if you want to rest, you can go hearly. Mommy, let's go home." "Okay." Tiffany nodded.

She looked down at Barry, feeling a bit reluctant, but thinking of Leon m nearby, she sighed and touched! Barry's face. "Barry, Mommy can only stay with you for a little while today. Next time, when I finish my work, I'll take you out to play, okay?" Barry nodded obediently. "Mommy, make sure to rest well." Tiffany kissed Barry's cheek and smiled, "I will." Then, Tiffany quickly left with Sam and Flora.
