Chapter 23 Leon Got Angry Tiffany slipped out through the side door and spotted Leon heading towards the auditorium.

Her heart sank recalling the last movie outing with the kids, where Leon interrogated her about the hypnotist, Harper.

It was clear Leon had heard about her lecture. If she went over now, she'd definitely bump into him. Tiffany wasn't sure if any photos from the lecture had leaked, so she had to play it safe.

Harper's identity had to stay hidden, so she quickly texted her assistant, Tess.

Tess replied right away, saying she'd take care of it.

Tiffany sighed in relief, straightened her clothes, and walked over, trying to look calm. Leon stopped, frowning, thinking, 'What's she doing here?' His gaze lingered on Tiffany's outfit. If his memory served him well, his secretary had sent him a picture earlier with Harper dressed in the sattire. Could it be...

An answer was on the tip of his tongue. Leon quickly stepped forward, grabbed her arm, and coldly asked, "Tiffany, what are you doing at the school?" "Mr. Cooper, where I go is my business. Why do you care? Do I need to report every little thing to you, my ex- husband?" Tiffany snapped, shaking him off and turning to leave.

She felt Leon was already suspicious and worried that if she kept talking to him, her identity would be exposed. Leon, however, thought Tiffany was feeling guilty and instinctively wanted to stop her.

Just then, Hugo got a message and hurried over to stop Leon. "Mr. Cooper, I just got word that Harper has left." Hugo sighed, seeing Leon's displeased expression, feeling a bit troubled.

'Could it be just a coincidence that they wear the soutfit?' Leon wondered.

"Let's go," Leon said sternly, giving Tiffany a cold glance before leaving without looking back.

If not for the company's delays, he could have encountered Harper. Regretting the missed opportunity, he pondered if he would ever cross paths with the enigmatic hypnotist.

Tiffany also heard Hugo's report, it seemed Tess had prepared in advance.

"Phew!" Tiffany exhaled, her heart finally settling down. She quickly left, not noticing that Leon had stopped and looked back. His gaze stayed fixed on her back.

Leon picked up his phone and carefully looked at the photo Hugo had sent. The angle was far away, and it only showed a blurry silhouette of Harper. Harper's appearance bore a striking resemblance to Tiffany's. Could Harper actually be Tiffany? Leon frowned, and Hugo received another picture.

"Mr. Cooper, Harper got into a car and left the school." He showed the picture to Leon.

In the picture, "Harper," disguised by Tess, got into a Porsche, wearing a mask and not showing her face.

Leon put away his phone, his eyes darkening, thinking he might have been overthinking.

At the Cooper Mansion, Sam was peeking out of his room, looking around to make sure Leon wasn't home. He wanted to sneak out and meet Barry.

These past few days, Leon had been watching him closely. Every the wanted to go out and play, Leon would arrange for a dozen bodyguards to follow him, which was so over the top it scared him back into his room.

Feeling guilty, Sam grabbed the stair railing and tiptoed downstairs. Just as he was about to reach the front door, he ran into Leon, who had just chome.

Why did Dad cback? Sam's escape plan was totally busted. He distinctly remembered hearing Dad say on the phone that he wouldn't be huntil the evening.

Sam had no clue that Leon hadn't met the much-anticipated hypnotist Harper, so he cback early.

Leon noticed the small figure beside him, hesitating in his steps.

"Sam, are you planning to go out?" Leon asked in a low voice.

"Dad, I was just... coming out to exercise... one, two, three, and turn around." Sam put his hands on his hips and wiggled his butt. When people are embarrassed, they tend to act busy. But his little act couldn't fool Leon at all.

"Sam, are you lying?" Leon asked, his voice carrying a hint of authority.

"No, Dad, I wasn't gonna sneak out. It's just that you're not home, and I'm so bored, I wanted to find someone to play with." Sam then hugged Leon's leg, turning into a little pendant on Leon.

Leon gently lifted Sam and carried him into the living room, while Damon brought in a freshly brewed coffee and set it on the table.

Sam noticed that Leon's mood had improved, so he got down from him, obediently poured a cup of coffee, and handed it to Leon himself.

Leon looked at the sensible Sam, feeling gratified as he took the coffee cup and sipped it. "Sam, if you wanna go out, just give Dad a heads up, and I'll arrange for someone to go with you." Leon put down the coffee cup, his tone gentle.

"Dad, I understand. So, can you tellabout Mom now?" Sam's eyes were full of light, looking particularly expectant. He thought that as long as Leon was in a good mood, there would be no problem bringing up this matter. But he underestimated Leon's resistance to Tiffany. "Sam!" Leon suddenly got angry, his tone heavy, and he slammed the table hard. Sam, who had been smiling, was now scared stiff.

"Dad... Dad," he called out timidly.

"I've told you over and over, don't mention Tiffany. Do you think I'm joking?" Leon's face was gloomy, and this the was really angry.

Sam's small hands tightly grabbed the ribbon on his clothes in fear. He just wanted to know why Dad and Mom got divorced. So he and Barry could figure out a way to reconcile them. Why did Dad have to be so fierce? Sam's eyes turned red with grievance.

Leon rubbed his temples, his anger not yet dissipated. "Go back to your room now, and from here on out, you're not going anywhere without my say so Sam, you're a good kid. I don't want you talking to that person! I thought you were just chatting with online buddies, but I'm pretty sure that's Tiffany! I shouldn't have given you back the watch!" Leon spoke coldly, forcibly taking the watch off Sam's wrist and taking it to the study.

Sam was clearly frightened by his actions, forgetting to struggle or resist. After swapping identities for so long, he had never seen Leon so angry.

Leon's angry glare intimidated Sam instantly, making him lose control, tears streaming down his face.

Damon, feeling sorry, took out a tissue to wipe Sam's tears, his brows furrowed in worry, his face full of helplessness his da helplessness. "Sam, it's better not to ask Mr. Cooper about the former Mrs. Cooper anymore..." He sighed, having nothing more to say. Sam sniffled, and his feelings towards Leon now were only of dislike. Even the goodwill accumulated a few days ago was completely gone. He never wanted to talk to Dad again!
