Chapter 760: "Alright, then stay with Melba and be good, okay?" "Got it!" Meanwhile, Eric was upstairs, walking with his business partners toward a high-end restaurant. As they passed by a row of eateries, something in the corner of his eye made him pause. Through the glass window of a casual dining spot, he spotted Joy-perched in a high chair, swinging her little legs back and forth, completely engrossed in whatever she was looking at.

A small smile tugged at his lips. "Mr. Blake, givea moment," he said to one of his associates. "I just saw a friend-I'll go say hello." "Sure, go ahead." His business partner gestured for him to take his time.

Eric nodded slightly before stepping into the restaurant.

"Mr. Flynn! What a surprise to see you here!" Melba was the first to notice him and immediately stood up to greet him.

"Hello, Melba," Eric said with a polite smile before turning his attention to Joy. "Hello, Joy! It's good to see you again!" Upon hearing his voice, Joy's face lit up. Stuck in her high chair, she eagerly lifted her arms toward him.

Eric chuckled and picked Joy up effortlessly. Holding her in his arms, he took a closer look—she seemed bright and energetic, her usual bubbly self. "Joy, have you been feeling unwell lately?" he asked casually, though his eyes flicked to Melba, clearly directing the question at her.

"Nope! I feel great!" the little girl chirped.

Melba added with a warm smile, "Since being discharged, Joy has been taking her medicine on tand going to the hospital for her shots every few days. She's been doing really well-thanks to you." Eric gently squeezed Joy's tiny hand, his expression soft. "That's all that matters-as long as Joy is happy and healthy." Joy snuggled closer, resting her little head against his shoulder. Then, in a hushed but eager whisper, she asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?" "Huh?" Eric blinked, momentarily caught off guard. Where did that cfrom? Joy beamed, her excitement bubbling over. "I want to introduce someone to you! Can I?” Eric chuckled, intrigued. "Oh? Joy..." Grinning, Joy clutched his shirt and whispered conspiratorially, "It's my mom! She's really pretty-just like me... but even prettier!" She pointed toward the restroom. "Mom went to the bathroom. Wait a bit, okay? She'll be back soon!" Melba nearly choked on the little one's bold words. "Joy!" she scolded, mortified. "You can't just say things like that!" "But I'm not saying anything wrong!" Joy pouted, crossing her arms. "Don't you believe me?" Eric let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "Of course, I believe you." His voice was gentle, but there was warmth in his eyes. "But Joy... I already have a girlfriend." At that, Joy's face fell, her bright eyes dimming with disappointment. "Oh... Okay."

Eric put the girl back down, gently ruffling the neatly styled buns on her head. "I jave to go now, Joy. Be good for your mom, alright?" Joy sighed tically but nodded, "Bye-bye."

A few moments later, Hadley returned unaware of what she had noticed Joy just missed Hadley once slumped over the table. She frowned, glancing at Melba. “What's wrong?"
