Chapter 128:

Alice was shocked for no apparent reason.
The valet noticed her reaction and took off his jacket, putting it over her shoulders.
Alice felt uncomfortable and gave him back the jacket. "I don't want you to be cold," she said.
“It's okay. I'm not cold,” the valet replied. “You can give it back tonext twe meet.”
However, Alice insisted on giving it back.
At that moment, her phone ranged from inside her bag. Seeing that it was Caden, she felt a surge of anxiety and
quickly gestured to the valet to be quiet.
The valet agreed.
Alice stepped back before answering, "What's wrong?"
“Are you done?” Caden asked flatly.
"I'm still busy," Alicia replied. "I'm at the hospital right now."
Caden narrowed his eyes at Alicia, who was standing by the road with the man's jacket slung over her shoulders.
His tone turned sharp. “Why are you still there? It's late and you haven't left yet.”
“I'm just taking care of the things | mentioned before,” Alice replied. She looked at her watch, anxious not to give
herself away. “What do you need? Just say the word.”
"Nothing," he replied.
“So why did you call?” Alice replied, sounding rather annoyed. “I'm busy right now.”
Caden let out a cold sneer. “Do you have plans for tonight?”
Alice knew instantly what he meant.
She thought it was too late and didn't want to deal with him. "Yes, I'm planning on spending the night in the
hospital."
Caden's face turned grim.
"Alice, look across the street," he said.
Alice frowned. “What?” she asked before looking up.
He immediately noticed the black Maybach.

The sight of the family emblem made her heart pound, and once she saw the license plate, her fears were
confirmed.
His eyes finally fell on the car window.
Caden was there, holding his phone and looking at her.
Alice froze for a second, then quickly tried to pretend she hadn't noticed anything.
"What's across the street? | can't see anything. | have to go anyway."
“Eat here,” Caden ordered.
She immediately fell silent.
There was no real reason to fear him, but those two words hit her like a knife to her throat, making her feel
intimidated.
So he stayed where he was.
Caden's voice grew even colder. “Do | have to go myself?”
She replied without hesitation: “I will go. Stay where you are.”
With that, the call ended.
Alicia handed the jacket back to the valet and quickly made up an excuse to send him off. Then, she started
walking toward Caden's car.
They were just a few feet away, so he walked slowly, trying to mentally prepare himself for what lay ahead.
Once she had calmed down, she approached the car. But as soon as she met Caden's sharp gaze, all her resolve
seemed to crumble.
Alice couldn't help but think it was ridiculous.
Why was | afraid of him?
Despite these thoughts, his hand had already obediently moved towards the car door.
Caden glanced at her. “Get in the front seat.”
Alice hesitated for a moment. “I prefer the back seat. “It's more spacious.”
“Are you afraid of me?” Caden asked.
She didn't answer.
Of course, she wasn't afraid of him.
Alicia withdrew her hand and sat confidently in the passenger seat.
Caden didn't say another word.
He just started the car and drove away.
Alice asked in a hesitant voice, "Did you see everything that happened?"
Caden kept his eyes fixed on the road, his face showing nothing to give away what he was thinking.
“Are you afraid | saw something you didn't wantto see?” | have asked.
Alice felt an unknown sense of fear inside her, although she couldn't pinpoint the reason.
Still, she tried to hold firm. “There was nothing in our agreement that required us to be loyal to each other. What
| do on my personal tshouldn't be a problem between us, right?”
Caden agreed.
He was surprisingly calm.
Alice felt a mixture of surprise and relief as she looked at him.
It seemed like he had been worrying for no reason. They were just partners in a practical sense, not romantically
involved. He had no reason to worry about his actions outside of their agreement.
The car stopped briefly at a corner.
“I'm going out to buy something,” Caden said, his expression neutral, hiding his thoughts.
Alicia just agreed and preferred not to ask what he was planning to buy.
When they got to the apartment, Alicia turned to Caden. “Have you eaten?”
“Yes,” he replied as he handed her a pair of women’s slippers. “Take a shower.”
Alice looked into his eyes. There was an untamed wildness in them.

Halfway through the shower, Caden walked in.
He approached her, taking off his clothes until he was completely naked.
Alice blushed, took a step back and instinctively tried to protect herself with her arms.
“Caden, what are you doing...?”
Before she could finish, her words were silenced by his kisses and the sound of running water.

cold.
Alice cback to reality and looked at her. Sure enough, they were handcuffs.
