Chapter 4196

F*ck!

When he saw Oliver turn to leave, the sight filled Grunt with rage. The anger in his heart climbed by

the second.

'So, that legless b*stard is not going to help me?'

If he did not join the fiend race, it meant that he would not have anyone supporting him. Eventually,

the Nine Heaven Emperor would catch up to him.

No, he could not go down like that.

Grunt's face ashen. With a jerk, he stood upright.

The next second, a ripple of energy exploded from Grunt's body like lightning, zig-zagging through

the air in Oliver's direction.

Grunt had thought it through. Since Oliver could not help, there was nothing to do but take him

down.

'You!"

Sensing the movement from behind him, Oliver froze in shock. He turned as he realized what Grunt

was doing, and he could hardly contain his anger. ''Grunt, what are you trying to do?"

Grunt was too cunning, attacking him from behind.

"Oliver."

Grunt smiled slightly, unable to control the rage and loss of sanity. "To think that I treated

you with such sincerity, only for you not to help me at all. Don't say I was not nice to you."

The final word rang through the air as Grunt gained speed, bringing a palm down.

"Scared, are we?"

Oliver grew enraged by the second. He tried to dodge, but his legs were artificial limbs

that hindered him from moving-there was no way he could

run.

The blow landed heavily on Oliver's body. With a dull hum, Oliver's body jerked, and he

stumbled backward a good number of steps. At last, he landed against a tree, finally

halting him.

Grunt had not used his full strength. If he had, Oliver would be dead for sure.

"You!"

Oliver leaned against the tree, and his blood boiled as he glowered at Grunt in indignant

fury. "Are you going to kill me for not introducing you to them? Killing me will not do you

any good."

As he spoke, Oliver felt anger and panic in his heart.

He would never have guessed that Grunt would be so ruthless. They had been allies, after

all —and he had just lashed out like that.

At the same time, he was also suspicious.

Oliver knew that Grunt's blow was not one with full force, or he would have lost his life as

soon as it landed on him.

Did Grunt want to teach him a lesson?

Oliver scrambled to say, "General Grunt, I've honestly got close to no power in the fiend

race, or I would help you without hesitation. How about I return and find a chance to bring

your name upto Archfiend Antigonus. What do you think of that?"

The last thing Oliver wanted was to give in to Grunt. Yet if he did not, he would be dead."

Grunt smirked condescendingly. "Save it, Oliver. You never intended to help me. Why the

pretense?"

Grunt's gaze shone with mockery. "I've thought about it. Since you aren't going to help

me, I'll have no choice but to replace your position in the fiend race."

"I'm sure you know of the forbidden spell in the Imperial Sky Palace called the Complete Takeover. It

allows me to destroy all your spiritual consciousness, then put my spiritual consciousness and fairy

soul into

your body. When that happens, I'll become you, and no one would know.

"You are missing a pair of legs, but your body still works.

"And my body will be brought back with yours to Archfiend Antigonus.

"That way, not only will I save my life with your body, I'll also be able to use my body to claim glory.

It'd be like killing two birds with one stone. What do you think?"

Grunt's face was wrought with a crazed glint.

Had he gone insane?

Grunt had utterly lost it.

The thought filled Oliver with rage and panic. His body trembled, cold sweat beading at his temple.

What a terrifying idea! Grunt was even more terrifying than the fiend race.

Amidst his panic, Oliver was close to tears. "General Grunt, I'm begging you just to give me a

chance. I promise I'll recommend you, I-"

At the thought of Grunt taking over his body and becoming him, Oliver could not help but tremble

with fear.

Grunt hardly heard Oliver's begs as he shook his head. "Forget it. Your recommendation might kill

me. This is the best way forward; it's foolproof."
