Darryl was not happy at all, even though he had successfully tamed the Golden Lions and was promoted to a
commander position. He had been there for three days and there was still no sign of the Holy Jade Scripture. He
was starting to panic, which caused him to sneeze a few times. ‘sh*t, who’s talking about me behind my back?’
“Darren!” cried Angeline from outside as she barged into his room excitedly.
“Princess Angeline, you shouldn’t be here,” said Darryl with a worried smile.
“I’m the Queen’s sister. The whole palace is my home, who can stop me from going anywhere I want?” she said
while cocking her head coquettishly.
Then she pulled on his arm and asked impatiently, “Darren, you were amazing! Can you teach me the beast
language too?”
Darryl’s head began to hurt. He wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. Not only did he

Angeline was very confused and gave up in the end. “Fine, I don’t want to learn it
anymore. This is too confusing for me. By the way, what other abilities do you have?”

Darryl became excited and he subconsciously grabbed her hand. “ Really? Do you know
where it is?”
Angeline was startled and glared at him. “what do you think you’re doing? Are you
planning to take advantage of me?”

Darryl became embarrassed and immediately let go of her hand. “ Sorry, I was a little too excited just then.
Please don’t be mad at me, Princess Angeline.”
His sudden panic made her laugh out loud. “I was only joking with you.” Then her face became serious. “Tell me
the truth. Why are you so interested in the Holy Jade Scripture?”
“Well...” Darryl thought and smiled. “As I’ve said, it has been a recent interest of mine to know more about
ancient texts. Once I heard that there’s an ancient text in the palace, I knew I had to come here and see it for
myself no matter what.”
Angeline was satisfied with his answer. “Alright then. I’ll help you ask the Queen one of these days. However, in
exchange, you’ll have to do whatever I ask you to do from now on.” 1
“Deal! ” said Darryl without hesitation. He was willing to do anything to get his hands on the Holy Jade Scripture.
