Gradually, as Austin concentrated, he sensed that he could now feel the very fluctuation of the ideas of the middle-aged man. To

put it concisely, he could actually spy on his opponent's consciousness.

"Oh? Where are we?"

All of a sudden, the surroundings faded and he found himself in a completely new and strange world.

It looked like a vast, boundless continent, marked only by silence.

The place was enormous and stretched out boundlessly across the very center of the universe.

Numerous stars and suns were revolving around this continent, which spoke of its marvelous size. From the looks of it, this place

seemed like the very hub of all life forms in all of creation.

It was hto trillions of living creatures, who seemed happy and prosperous.

To top the whole fairy land like deal, the whole place seemed to be shrouded in an endless fairy energy. The density of spiritual

energy between the heaven and earth was so high that it had condensed into a thick fog which was covering the continent,

constantly moisturizing all the creatures that inhabited this place.

Such was the vitality embedded here that every living creature, including several plants as well, was practicing martial arts.

Austin could also sense that a lot of powerful cultivators lived here.

Even a few great masters were present here who could not be ranked among ordinary cultivators.

They were powerful enough to crack the ground with one step, and swoop stars out of the sky with a punch.

They had been living here for a long, long tand were almost as old as this continent.

This seemed to be an extremely advanced world, with cultivation levels highly developed, and powerful warriors walking around

like the wind was blowing.

Austin found that he could perceive many things in the world.

"The warriors on this continent are extremely strong compared to the people on the Divine Continent.

Is this the Immortal World that the cultivators of the Divine Continent speak of?"

He was confused. He sensed the strong aura of immortals on this continent and felt the presence of people who were almost the

sage as this continent. 'This is most likely the legendary Immortal World, ' he thought.

Obviously, no ordinary person could live so long. Only immortals could attain lifespans as long as the heavens themselves.

"Kill

All of a sudden, Austin's heart missed a beat when he heard a cry so shrill that it shook the sky. From the farthest depths of the

horizon, a dark and dense mist or fog suddenly began to appear. It quickly spread over hundreds of square miles.

Shouts and battle cries could be heard from that fog and ssort of weird, harsh laughter also rang out of it.

Very soon, the dark fog enveloped the sky of the continent.

"Howl!"

Black colored shadows began to take shape in the fog, like millions of ferocious ghosts had been thrown in hell and were now

crying and screaming in agony.

"Kill

"Destroy this continent!"

"Let darkness and death descend! Kill!"

Strong killing intents roared and rushed towards the whole place, blazing with the aura of death.

There were too many shadows for any one man to handle in there!

The scene was horrifying; all kinds of demons and monsters, of various shapes and sizes, and of strange and dreadful forms were

rushing towards the land.

In a blink of an eye, the shadows reached every place on the whole continent. They were all comparable to the most advanced

cultivators and merciless in their approach. Wherever they went, death followed.

"Kill! Confound it! Blast these demons to hell!"

"We must protect our home!"

In the face of this alien incursion on the continent, warriors from all over the place united to safeguard their hand families.

A fierce battle began to take place on the continent that spanned the entire area of the place.

The prosperous and healthy land gave way to a horrific battlefield!

Creatures began to die at the rate of hundreds a second.

Sof them were warriors on the continent while others were their enemies.

Austin was shocked by the wretched battle which was going on here. It had chere unexpectedly, like rain on a midsummer's

day.

The scene was tragic, and horrible.

The ground pretty soon turned into a large pile of bloody knuckles and broken bones, and the sand turned black with dried and

fresh blood.

As far as he could see, Austin saw piles and piles of corpses. It was too horrible to behold and he had to lower his gaze.

Thousands of troops and horses rushed out at each other, looking like colliding waves from the distance. Only this time, instead of

water, blood splashed out all over the place!

This world was now at the most gruesand hopeless war possible.

Roars of rage, cries of agony, and screams of pain were all that could be heard, even over the clang of weapons and moves.

The scene had severely shocked Austin.

Now he finally understood what a war was like!

It was right here, in front of him!

Austin had faced numerous conflicts in his life and fought with hundreds of enemies. In the PrMartial World, he had slaughtered

the entire demon race which his army had trapped.

But this was something else. He couldn't compare those little duels to this thing! This was utterly gruesand horrifying.

Life had becmeaningless in this place. Women and children were slaughtered, cut into pieces like vegetables, and cultivators

were falling like a house of cards.

Even a cultivator at the Heavenly Grotto Realm was a mere common soldier in this war!

In fact, on this battlefield, they were at the very bottom of the chain. There were millions of them, and hundreds of thousands of

them were already dead.

A cultivator at the Immortal Transforming Realm could be considered the next best thing to an immortal. However, even such

cultivators were dying here with no prejudice. Their bodies fell down one by one, hot blood gushing out of every wound and

corpses flying everywhere.

Austin felt something despicable was going on even by looking at this scene. His heart was filled with desolation and emptiness.

How many strong cultivators had already been killed on this continent? How many more would die?

Enormous rivers had already turned a deep shade of crimson. No food, no water. Just death!

Soon he saw the end of the battle draw near, and the strongest warriors of both the sides get into the fight personally.

Bang! Bang! Bang

As the battles among the topmost cultivators started, it shattered the ground and mountains of the continent. In the farthest

reaches of the sky, countless stars were brought down by the warriors to serve as weapons.

"The Fire Stela!"

Suddenly, Austin's eyes landed on one of the powerful men on a continent. Above the man's head was a stela that was constantly

emitting a dazzling golden light. The Fire Stela. What else could it be? The signs were all there.

Austin looked closely at that cultivator on the continent and saw that he was the smiddle-aged man who had been in the dark

palace not long ago.

It was the sperson who had converse through telepathy with Austin and brought him to this miserable battlefield.

"Sir!"

Austin shouted at the middle-aged man, who was standing not far from him. He was shocked from the result.

The middle-aged man turned towards him. There was a kind smile on his face instead of a ruthless warrior's cruel looks. He

seemed to have heard Austin's voice.

"Sir, can you see me? "

Austin was just trying to check if he could talk in this place, but the middle-aged man had responded with a smile unexpectedly.

No wait! No matter how hard Austin yelled, the middle-aged man was not looking at Austin any more. He had turned his attention

towards the fierce battle.

Boom!

The whole continent had already started to break down. It was going to dissipate into pieces very soon under such powerful

attacks.

Bang!

Finally, even this huge continent could not take it and was completely shattered into confetti!

It was completely destroyed!

Bang!

An ancient city appeared somewhere else in the universe.

It was so solidly built that it appeared in the sky as if it was an entire world.

In this place were hundreds of powerful cultivators from the continent. They had showcased the most suprof their skills to help

the creatures that had survived the war on the continent. Their knowledge and power had brought these creatures into this city

before the place had gone ka-boom!

"Let's go!

We'll rebuild our family one day and take revenge on them!"

A strong man's voice echoed and shook the sky.

Then the city turned into a beam of light and disappeared.

"Go after them!

Let's uproot them all! We won't let them get away!"

On the farthest side of the city stood a strange looking cultivator. He waved his hand and countless warriors began rushing towards

the place where the city had been just a while back.

After a short while, the lump in the sky was broken by the enemy and a passageway appeared.

A large number of people rushed towards the passageway, intending to hunt down any survivors from the war Austin had just

witnessed.

And just like a helpless onlooker, Austin saw the whole process clearly, unable to make anything happen in here.

A moment later, the whole scene vanished out of his sight.

Suddenly, Austin's eyes narrowed.

The middle-aged man he had seen appeared in front of Austin once again with a pair of deep and wrinkled eyes seemingly looking

towards him; or he could have been looking at the endless space behind him. There was no telling

"Sir, sir..."

Austin shouted once more.

"Alas. Demons and deities fought for hegemony; all races were slaughtered, and it was the end for every being. There was nothing

we could do, despite all that we did do...

Remember, we need to re-build our home."

With a small wave at Austin, the middle-aged man turned around in a melancholic manner, walked away, and slowly faded into air.

"Sir, sir..."

Austin shouted helplessly.

All of a sudden, he woke up and found himself back in the dark palace where the five ancestors were still standing in front of him.

'Was that a dream?"

Austin wondered. If it was, it had been a nightmare!
