Chapter 293 Yorick When Landon and Lila return from talking to Alpha Nevaeh, we're all at dinner. "Alpha Nevaeh said Lila can stay at the Academy during the week as long as it doesn't impact my studies," Landon says excitedly.

"And she's givinga job here so I can stay on campus and make smoney. I'll be cleaning the dining room after breakfast and lunch. It will givesomething to do, and I can help Landon pay for the Academy,” Lila says sweetly.

"The Academy is paid for already. Keep your money," Landon says, kissing the side of her head.

"It's our money now, though, right?" she asks. I haven't spent a lot of twith Lila. Cyra and I haven't been able to spend a lot of twith any of our new pack members, but it infuriatesthat Stellan took advantage of a woman who is this sweet and kind. Her innocence would have made her an easy target, but as an Alpha and her mate, he should have felt the need to protect her, not exploit her.

"Yes. As you know, Cyra and I are working to combine our two packs into one. We've demoted one Gamma, leaving us with two Betas and one Gamma. One of our Betas has spoken to my father about wanting to retire," I say.

"Not Beta Eric?" Lila asks quickly.

"No, he's much too young to retire. We're going to meet with him this weekend to discuss him taking over as Beta for both sides while we combine the packs. But our remaining Gamma, Gamma Elliot is also older and probably thinking about retirement. I wanted to know if you'd be interested in taking over that position. It wouldn't be until you'd finished the Academy, of course, but Cyra and I plan to speak with him this weekend about training his successor. We'd like that successor to be you, both of you," I say, including Lila. "You could do what Cyra and I are doing. I know what it's like being newly mated. Hell, Cyra and I are still technically newly mated, and I can barely keep my hands off her. So, I know that it's tto wind down this conversation and let them be together.

"Think about it. We'll approach Gamma Elliot this weekend about his plans for retirement and training a successor without mentioning any names. When you get back from your weekend, let us know what you've decided." "Thank you, Alphas," he says.

"We're not your Alphas yet," I tell him.

"But you will be after this weekend," he says, standing and saying goodbye before leading Lila to their room.

"You know, it's a lot funnier when Quirin is undermining someone else,” I grumble.

Cyra chuckles and takes my hand. "Con, Alpha. Why don't you cburn off that frustrated energy onand then we need to go to bed. We have court again in the morning."

I can tell my mate is nervous about tomorrow, about facing her father in court. So I do what she's take her to our rodes asked.h room and make her cuntil the only thing on her mind is me. Then I make her clong and hard over and over so that when I finally pull out of her, she snuggles againstand falls right to sleep.

In the morning, we meet up with our friends for breakfast. They're coming to support us at court once again. Unlike Stellan's frial, they didn't have a role in taking down Alpha Arden, but they were there to witness Cyra defeating her father to take possession of the pack... This time, Lila is able to sit in the seating area with Landon. When Alpha Ramin and Alpha Arman walk into the courtroom, rather than sitting toward the back like they did for Stellan's trial, they sit right behind Cyra and I, making sure that Alpha Arden will see them.

Cyra and I greet my family and wave at the tech team who is once again stationed in their triangular formation between the defense table and the council chairs.
