Chapter 689 Randall is Unloved
Since Randall owned the company, he had the freedom to move around as he pleased. While everyone else was
hard at work, he could cand go without anyone daring to say a word.
"I'm heading to Evergreen University to pick up Susan. I'll be back soon," Randall said, grabbing the confidential
meeting documents.
Susan knew Randall had a meeting today, so she didn't plan on waiting for him after school. As she was about to
hail a cab, she heard a car horn and instinctively turned around. Sure enough, she saw the familiar car. Excited,
she ran over, calling out, "Randall!"
She opened the passenger door and saw it was filled with documents. She hesitated for a moment, then without
waiting for Randall to speak, she gathered the papers and sat in the passenger seat, as if it was her designated
spot.
Randall chuckled as he started the car. "I thought you'd be polite and sit in the back when you saw the
documents."
"If anything, the documents should go in the back. They're occupying my seat. The passenger seat is mine,"
Susan replied without hesitation.
Randall glanced at Susan, who was unapologetically assertive, and complimented her, "Not bad, you know your
place well."
Then he asked, "Are you going hto take care of Teddy, or coming withto the office?"
Susan hesitated for a few seconds, torn between Randall and adorable Teddy, then decisively chose Randall.
"Will | be bothering you if I go to the office?"
"No, but | might have to work late."

"Then I'll keep you company. Teddy has plenty of people who love him; my love won't make much difference,"
Susan said, showing her growing self-awareness.
Randall sighed as he drove. "Yeah, I'm the one with no one to love me, except for Susan, right?" He glanced at
Susan.
Susan blushed. "Actually, everyone loves you," she said, trying to correct him. It wasn't just her.
Randall smiled, but his thoughts drifted to Ulysses' unusual attention today. His smile faded as he pondered
whether he had finally earned Ulysses" approval.
Just as Susan had said, Patrick had returned home. Teddy had just woken up and, upon seeing Patrick, called out
to him for a while.
Patrick's usually cold demeanor softened as he held Teddy. The high and mighty CEO even gently kissed Teddy's
soft cheek right there in the living room.
Seeing Patrick's affection, Teddy pouted. Vera, standing nearby, stroked Teddy's cheek. "What's wrong? Feeling
upset again? Want to be pampered by Daddy because you're sick today?"
Teddy buried his face in Patrick's neck, clinging to him.
Sebastian chfrom work and went straight to the Olteran Manor, holding Teddy. "Is his temperature still
high?"
"No, it's fluctuating," Vera replied.
Sebastian's gaze then fell on Molly.
Vincent, after work, declined a friend's dinner invitation. "My nephew is sick; | need to get home."
"Your nephew?" The friend was momentarily confused, then remembered. "Oh, Mr. Olteran's nephew!"At home,
Teddy ended up in Vincent's arms. His little face had been touched by many people today.
Everyone agreed: his face was soft, his skin smooth, and he was adorable.
Back at the office, Randall was diligently organizing documents when Jack approached his desk. "Hey Randall,
there's a leadership gathering tonight. You should bring Susan along."

"Bring her to the gathering?" Randall echoed, glancing at Susan.
Susan looked at Randall, her face inexplicably reddening.
After a moment's thought, Randall politely declined Jack's invitation. "We won't be attending. The secretarial
department is working late tonight, and I'll stay at the office to handle any urgent matters."
Jack glanced at Susan and didn't press further. The gathering was mostly male executives, and Susan, being a
student, might feel out of place. He nodded, "Alright, if you need anything, givea call."
"Randall, are you having a gathering? Am | getting in the way?" Susan asked, sensing something.
Randall, still focused on his documents, replied absentmindedly, "I never enjoy these gatherings. It's not because
of you."
Susan nodded obediently.
Randall said, "If you're hungry, order stakeout. I'll go downstairs to get it for you." Susan pointed to a sign
nearby. "But it says no eating takeout in the office. Patrick would be mad."
Randall glanced at the sign, unconcerned. "Don't worry, you can eat secretly. Patrick isn't here right now.
Besides, Vera orders takeout when she visits. Don't mind the rules."
Susan still hesitated, not wanting Randall to get in trouble for her.

Later, Randall went to the coffee room and returned with a basket full of snacks and fruit.

Susan was speechless. Sometimes she could feel Randall's kindness, like now, but the amount of snacks was
overwhelming.
The secretarial staff noticed Randall carrying the basket and curiously eyed Susan. Many speculated that the
Morales family might be planning a union with the Olteran family.
Randall ignored the stares and handed the snacks to Susan, then opened a drink for her. "Eat and drink. I'll be
busy until around ten tonight."
Susan nodded.
"If you get bored, we can go home, and I'll work from there," Randall offered.
But working from hwasn't as efficient. He'd likely finish around midnight.
Susan shook her head and picked up Randall's phone. "It's okay, Randall. | can play games on your account to
pass the time."
Randall glanced at his phone and swallowed. "Just don't play too long."
"Okay." Susan had a puzzling question. "Randall, why do my levels drop, but when | play again, my levels don't
decrease or even increase?"
Randall, the unfeeling explanation robot, replied, "The ghas a bug."
The earnest and naive Susan asked, "Should | report the bug to the developers?"
Randall looked at Susan, who didn't understand his dismissive answer, and realized she took everything he said
seriously. "No need to report it. The bug is me."
