Paz was known far and wide for her magic touch with hearty turkey.
Using apples to flavor turkey was one of her ways to cook delicious turkey.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtRaines offered a faint smile, "It's been such a long time, | can't even recall the taste of that stewed turkey pie." Paz blinked, taken aback. Although Mr. Raines had suffered a head injury in the past, affecting his memory, he never forgot the foods he loved.
Could it be his condition had worsened? "Mr. Raines, let Paz take care of you these next few days. I'll make sure to nourish you back to health." "That won't be necessary, Paz. I've got someone looking afternow." He reached out, wrapping an arm around Lisbeth's waist.
"This is my assistant, Lisbeth, and also my wife. She's been the one taking care oflately." Paz eyed Lisbeth and chuckled, "So this is the Miss Lisbeth you mentioned. You're married now, that's wonderful." Aurelia didn't miss a beat with a smile casual as she chimed in, "Aside from Elfreda, Paz is the closest person to Raines. I'm sure he must've told you about his marriage to Lisbeth already, right?" Paz grinned, "Mr. Raines used to callall the tto keepupdated on everything." Aurelia caught the emphasis on "used to" and wondered if Raines had stopped contacting Paz recently. If he was so close to Paz, could he really forget? But in Raines' presence, she said nothing.
Lisbeth dimmed her eyes secretly, with a mix of emotions flitting across her gaze.
She draped an arm around Paz's shoulder, guiding her to sit on the couch.
"Paz, Raines often talks about you. You've been like a mother to him." Paz replied, "After the lady gave birth to Mr. Raines, she was weak and couldn't nurse him, so he was always with me." Lisbeth spoke gently, "From now on, Raines and | will take good care of you." Paz waved her off, "I'm just a servant and wouldn't dare accept such kindness. Just seeing Mr. Raines and Lady Lisbeth often is enough for me." Lisbeth's smile was warm, "This time, Raines and | will stay a while longer, so we can all spend more ttogether." "That sounds lovely," Paz beamed.

Aurelia approached, carrying a bunch of grapes, washing them as she spoke with nonchalance, "Has it been a long tsince Raines contacted you?" Paz nodded, "More than half a year. He used to callevery month. Maybe he didn't reach out because he's been ill? He's lost so much weight, | barely recognized him." Half a year! Aurelia pursed her lips, contemplating that the true Raines was the one from half a year ago.
"I've heard from Fredric that Raines seems to have changed a lot." Paz was laced with concern, "I'm worried about Mr. Raines. His memory problems could be getting worse. He doesn't even remember the taste of his favorite foods. You know, ever since he was little, he had a thing for strong flavors, such as apples, fermented ljuice, cilantro... he loved them all. Even if he forgot everything else, he couldn't possibly forget the taste of his favorite foods." She paused, letting out a heavy sigh, "Mr. Raines said he was recovering from an illness, and I'm worried it might be his old head injury acting up again." Aurelia thinned her lips with concern, thinking it might be possible he didn't know at all that amnesia was the perfect cover.
"Raines must have told you a lot about Lisbeth. | can tell he loves her very much."
