Arnold glanced at his son by the door and said proudly, "The only wave that might outdo you is probably our William." Aurelia chuckled. Indeed, William possessed a remarkable design talent, a gift he had inherited from her.
But William didn't aspire to be a designer. He had plans of his own.

"Looks like our William is growing up, coming up with his ideas. Schooling does make a difference." Arnold laughed, feeling the words resonate deeply within him. He also had longed for another child with Aurelia.
"Buddy, what made you suddenly want to beca doctor?" "lI want to challenge myself in an unfamiliar field, to have an adventurous spirit like you, Daddy," William replied with earnest determination.
Arnold couldn't help but chuckle. "Having the courage to take on challenges is great, buddy. Your mom and | will always support you." Aurelia smiled. "Becoming a doctor is a noble goal. Our family could certainly use a top-notch physician." William cocked an eyebrow with youthful bravado. "I'll be the top surgeon in the world!" Aurelia gave a thumbs-up, confident in her son's precision while he worked on model kits. She believed he could do anything he set his mind to.
"My William is amazing." Arnold added, "If my son is going to do something, he's going to be the best at it." William lifted his head, grinning widely. "I won't let you down, Daddy." After dinner, the family of three settled on the couch to watch the latest series starring Avery.
But Arnold was distracted, turning so often to gaze at the woman beside him.
Aurelia noticed and smiled gently. "What's on your mind? You seem like you want to say something." He gave a shy smile. "l was just thinking about how | won't see you for a month, and I'll miss you terribly, so I'm taking every chance to look at you now." She returned the smile. "Whenever you get a signal, givea call." "Will you miss me?" Arnold asked, a fleeting look of anxiety passing over his face. He couldn't hold back the question, dreading she might simply shake her head in response.

Whenever you're on a trip, she's always checking Whatto see if you've messaged. She doesn't want to interrupt your work, so she waits for you to message first. That way, she would know you've wrapped up and have stime." Aurelia gently pinched his cheek. "Your dad often goes to dangerous places for shoots. Of course, | worry. Knowing he's safe when he sends a message is the only way | can rest easy." Their words brought immense comfort to Arnold.
"Don't worry. I'll be careful." Once upon a time, he was a lone wolf, but he had a loving partner and son. He couldn't bear the thought of leaving them behind.
Aurelia pulled out a cross and put it around his neck. "I got this for you at Grace Lutheran Chapel when we were together. May God bless you." Arnold felt enveloped by warmth. Aurelia still cared and worried about him.
"I'll wear it every day." "I also made scupcakes for you on the road." Aurelia packed the treats in a Tupperware for easy transport.
Arnold felt like he was back in Goldstone. Whenever he left for work, Aurelia would lovingly prepare everything like a wife.
Her tenderness, even the slightest bit, made him yearn for her more.
"What am | going to do? | haven't left yet, but I'm already missing you and William." William wrapped his arms around his neck. "I'll think of you every day, Daddy." Aurelia smiled warmly. "I'm looking forward to your new work. Make sure you catch the Northern Lights for me. | don't know when | can see that beautiful sight myself." Arnold stroked her hair affectionately. "Once William's a bit older, we'll go together."
