Chapter 569 Harmony Hill Mansion was as silent as a tomb in the dead of night.
The woman, deeply asleep, suddenly sat bolt upright.
Her face was expressionless, her eyes empty and void of life, and her limbs stiff. She moved off the bed like a specter, mechanically making her way to the vanity to take a seat.
The female bodyguard stationed in the room immediately followed.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Ms. Alcott, what are you doing?" There was no response as if the woman hadn't heard her at all. Shocked, the bodyguard flicked on the light.
In the harsh glow, Megan's complexion was as pale as marble, her eyes wide open. She grabbed a lipstick and smeared it across her face wildly, turning herself into a ghastly figure.
Then, on the mirror, she scribbled the words, “I am a bitch!" Another bodyguard hurried in and stared at the scene in disbelief.
"Is she sleepwalking?" "It seems so." After a while, Megan seemed to tire, her eyes closed, and she collapsed.
Together, the bodyguards carried her back to bed.
In the morning, Leopold rushed over right after he received the call.
Megan was curling up on the couch, sobbing and trembling.
"It's a warning from them. If | don't obey, | might not be so lucky next time." Leopold had the bodyguards pull up the surveillance footage.
The images were disturbing. Megan appeared as though possessed.
He couldn't help but think of the man who had gone mad on the bridge, but it seemed they didn't want to kill her but only to intimidate her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Who have you come into contact with these past few days?" Megan thought hard. "I've mostly stayed home, hardly going out. Before the nightmare, | only visited the park across from Azure Skies Villa. Lots of kids were playing there. One dressed as a little superhero ran over, praised me for being pretty and offered me a lollipop. He was quite funny and charming and gave me alittle toy. Then, a pregnant woman came by, about as far along as me, and we chatted about some pregnancy stuff.
Later, | stopped at a convenience store for some snacks. There were a few customers there. One man bumped into me, thankfully not my belly. After that, | went straight home and haven't left since.” She suddenly grabbed Leopold's arm with a start. "Could it have been the man who bumped into me? I've heard powerful cursers can cast their spells anytime, anywhere, even with a touch only." "Do you remember what the man looked like?" “He wore a baseball cap and a black mask, probably to disguise himself. It was him. I'm sure of it." The more Megan thought, the more convinced she became that the man was a nefarious curser, up to no good.
Leopold immediately sent someone to check the convenience store's surveillance.
“Perhaps you're just suffering from somnambulism. Let's consult a psychiatrist first.” Megan shook her head vehemently. “I don't sleepwalk. How could | possibly be sleepwalking?" "The existence of cursing is still a matter of debate. Don't put too much stock in these things,” Leopold reassured her. But Megan believed it firmly. She had seen AK Group's cursers perform deadly spells with her eyes.
Elsewhere, in a hotel room, William was deeply engrossed in his studies of "magic." "Skyler, if only we could use magic to punish those trolls online. The bad guys are wreaking havoc on the internet without facing any repercussions." "Then you'll need to learn the art of hacking first, to locate those baddies and find out who they are before you can punish them,’ Skyler advised.
William's eyes roamed thoughtfully. Kane was already skilled in that area and had become a formidable hacker.
"Skyler, can you do it?" “A bit." "Can you teach me then?" "Sure." William brought out some homemade cookies his grandma had made, and they ate together.
"Skyler, | don't think the ultimate punishment for the bad guys is to have the Grim Reaper take them away. That's letting them off too easy. The highest form of punishment is to make them not want to live but unable to die" mmMwWLIII0fifl0&1 mmMwWLIII0fifl0&1 mmMwWLII0fiflO& 1 mmMwWLIII0fifl0&1 mmMwWL1i10fif10&1 mmMwWLIiI0fiflO&1
