Chapter 170

Harvey pulled Eloise into a tight embrace, kissing her as he said, "Call my nagain."

But this time, Eloise didn't comply.

She leaned against his shoulder, taking in his damp scent, and held him.

Harvey wanted round two.

Eloise gently stroked his chiseled face, whispering, "Rest a little longer, and drink your soup later."

Harvey chuckled, "Are you feeling sorry for me?"

Indeed, Eloise did feel sorry for him.

Her gentle and docile demeanor which Harvey particularly adored, prompted him

to roll over and pin her down, seeking another intimate moment.

Just then, his phone rang. The caller ID displayed Griffin's name.

Eloise had a strong dislike for Griffin's calls.

As expected, after picking the call, Harvey's face darkened as he got up to dress.

Eloise held him from behind, refusing to let him leave.

"Harvey, can't you just ignore her? You know she's doing this on purpose, how long will you let her hurt you?

Harvey, there's a limit to how much you owe her."

Eloise is also a woman... She can't always cook for him nonchalantly, then watch him go to the hospital to give

blood to a crazy woman.

Seeing the puncture marks on his arm, Eloise felt suffocated.

Harvey was silent for a moment, then deeply kissed her.

He soothed her trembling body, waiting for her to calm down a bit, then softly said, "I'll be back soon."

"No, you won't be back. Joan won't let you..." This was the first tEloise seriously discussed the issue with

him, "Harvey, Joan is not your responsibility! You can help her with the lawsuit, but your indulgence is only

making her crazier."

What she wanted to say was, if Joan is really crazy, she should be treated in a psychiatric ward.

Harvey probably got Eloise's point.

He looked at her affectionately, making Eloise swallow her words.

In the end, he still put on his clothes and left.

As usual, Harvey didn't cback.

Spring nights are actually quite cold. Eloise tossed and turned till 3 am and couldn't sleep anymore. She thought

about going back to her own apartment, but didn't want to disturb Milo.

She sat in the living room, sleepless all night.

In the following half month, Joan's behavior becincreasingly outrageous.

Eloise barely saw Harvey.

During their two meetings, he seemed very tired and fell asleep as soon as he hit the bed.

Eloise didn't probe further.

In this relationship, she was always at a disadvantage, with no way out. Their relationship was so fragile that...

she couldn't even find a reason to feel sorry for him.

Sometimes, Eloise thought, maybe subconsciously, she had given up hope, and was just waiting for an outcome.

Eloise didn't expect Parker to look for her.

The CEO's secretary of Horigan Inc. personally drove to pick Eloise, respectfully saying, "Ms. Laurent, our CEO

wants to see you."

Half an hour later, Eloise was sitting in Parker's office.

Parker held Eloise in high regard. He had his secretary leave, made a cup of coffee for Eloise himself, and smiled,

"I heard from Orlena that you like ground coffee, so | had my secretary buy scoffee beans. Try it."

Eloise felt flattered.

But she also understood that a man of Parker's status wouldn't easily flatter others.

This might not be a good thing.

As expected, Parker calmly put down his coffee cup.

He sat across Eloise, casually saying, "Why haven't you visited my hlately? Orlena mentions you every day,

and Pauline is also looking forward to you coming over for dinner."

Eloise didn't know how to respond.

Her relationship with Harvey was currently very complex.

As a business tycoon, how could Parker not understand a young girl's thoughts?

He also knew Harvey's character.

Parker genuinely liked Eloise. She was beautiful and had a good personality.

Joan's interference kept Harvey away from home.

Parker observed calmly, detected the problem, and decided to act.

He pushed an admission invitation to The Conservatoire de Paris in front of Eloise and smiled, "There's no hidden

agenda... You've been wronged recently. Why not go abroad to relax? By the tyou finish your studies, Joan's

case will be over, and the grudges will be settled! Then it will be the perfect tfor you and Harvey to get

married and have kids."

Eloise felt a chill run down her spine.

She wasn't stupid, and she understood Parker's intentions.

The bond between the Horigan and the Lynch families won't be broken because

of her.

So, she was the one who had to make the sacrifice.

If she left, Harvey would suffer less.

This plan was well thought out.

Only... Eloise wasn't at fault, but in the end, she had to bear it all.

Everyone else was fine... But she had to leave her hometown.

Eloise found herself so distressed that she forgot to breathe.

A long silence fell over the luxurious office.

Parker didn't rush her. His patience with this girl seemed endless...

Finally, Eloise lifted her eyes and struggled to say, "lI need stto think."

When she got up to leave, her face was pale.

Parker felt a little sorry for her and had his secretary drive Eloise home.

Not long after Eloise left, Pauline came.

She had heard srumors and hurried over, but Eloise had already left. The elegant and beautiful Pauline was

worried as she complained, "Joan's matter shouldn't be handled by Harvey in the first place!"

"The master said Harvey only has two romances in his life, and only one chance at success! Parker, if you mess

up Harvey's marriage, | will take Orlena and Eloise and leave home. Humph... I'll make sure you and your son

stay single for the rest of your lives!"

Parker felt helpless.

While comforting Pauline, he also blamed Harvey for not being competent.

As a dad and a man, Parker saw the crux of the matter clearer than anyone else.

It wasn't Joan causing the problem, but Harvey himself.

He could tell Eloise was deeply in love with Harvey.

She was a real catch - gorgeous, well-off, and successful - so why was she

willing to wait for Harvey? She must really dig him, right?

It was Harvey who didn't cherish her, or maybe he just didn't love her enough!

Parker made this decision reluctantly, knowing that Harvey and Eloise's relationship was on borrowed time.

He was betting on whether Eloise loved Harvey enough!

Eloise returned hwith the invitation.

She thought it over for three days!

During these three days, she saw Harvey once. They didn't do much, just cuddled

in silence.

That night, she asked herself if her affection and love for Harvey were enough to uphold this sacrifice!

Two years was a long time, but her business could be managed by professionals. However, she couldn't be there

for her family.

Angus's health wasn't the best...

When the day broke, Eloise played with the ring Harvey gave her on Christmas

day. It felt like yesterday.

She liked Harvey.

If two years could change things, then she was willing to roll the dice.

She decided to go to France with Angus and Michelle, to further her piano skills.

When she returned, she'd be a better match for Harvey, and have more confidence when dealing with Griffin...

When Eloise made this decision, she felt a little lost.

But Harvey's handsface was right in front of her, enough to make her heart

flutter.

She leaned in and planted a kiss on his lips.

"| really love you! So let's give it a shot!"

Harvey woke up...

He rolled over, pinning Eloise beneath him. "What did you just say?"

Eloise blushed and wouldn't repeat it.

Harvey's gaze was intense. He was full of energy and ready pick up where they

left off last night.

Eloise was very receptive.

Harvey stared at her, desiring her.

She held his neck, took the initiative to kiss him, her cheeks flushed, her eyes

filled with passion...

After a while, Harvey laid next to her, catching his breath. "What got into you today?"

He rolled over to pinch her face, "I heard that girls at a certain age start wanting men, Eloise, is that what you

were looking forward to these days?"

"You're the one at that age!" Eloise pushed him away and headed to the

bathroom.

When she cout, he was by the window, talking to Griffin about a lawsuit on the phone.

Eloise hugged him from behind.

After he hung up, she softly called, "Saturday is Valentine's Day. Can you cback?"

With her being so gentle, Harvey's mood lifted.

He stroked her hand, asking softly, "What present have you prepared for me?"

Eloise remembered the invitation and felt a twinge of sadness.

But she cheerfully said, "It's a secret!"

Harvey turned to kiss her. They hadn't been like this for a while, so he decided to

continue their morning escapade...

Eloise paused for a moment, then let him have his way.

In the afternoon, Harvey went to the office.

Eloise called Parker. He had clearly been waiting for her call and picked up

immediately.

"Have you decided?" Parker still sounded gentle.

Eloise calmly replied, "I want to take Angus and Michelle with me."

Parker sounded delighted, immediately responding, "No problem at all! It's always

good to have family around. You're such a good daughter."

"Does Harvey know?" he asked again.

Eloise shook her head, "I haven't told him yet, maybe in a couple of days..."

In a couple of days, it would be Valentine's Day. She wanted to prepare properly.

It was their first Valentine's Day together, they should enjoy it to the fullest, as they

might not have enough tto celebrate in the next two years.

Parker, once a young man himself, guessed her reasoning.

He laughed, "I'll have Pauline and Orlena accompany you for shopping. If you

ever feel lonely, Orlena can keep you company, she's usually free."

Eloise shook her head.

Parker was being very nice to her.

For a man of his stature to be so accommodating, it clearly showed his high

regard.

In the next two days, Eloise had everything sorted out.

She also hired a well-known stuin Peterborough to design a black-themed

decoration for Harvey's apartment on Saturday afternoon.

Although the cost was steep, Eloise didn't hesitate to swipe her card.

After all, it was their first Valentine's Day!

She prepared candle holders, champagne, roses, and food delivered from a

restaurant.

Everything was full of romance.

At seven in the evening, Eloise called Harvey, cheerfully asking, "When are you coming back?"
