Chapter 284: Running Into Dominic She is your mother; certainly, you would have known a little about her? If she were an alpha female, she would be bound to slip more than just once.
And that was the thing. Inez didn't recall anything about her childhood. She did have smessy memories here and there, but nothing more than that. Her mother, as a matter of fact, had never shown any signs of being an alpha female if she was one before she was cursed or ruined or both. She had been a perfectly submissive wife to her mate and never, not once, shown any sign which would prove otherwise.
And what about the authority that she had shown in front of you? Do you think that she is really just a submissive wolf? Her siren's words echo deep within her because Inez knew that she was right. What about the authority that her mother had shown her? The way she had suppressed Inez at every turn. Hissing like a wild cat every tInez had tried to step out of the house, but- "I am a half-blood," Inez spoke to no one in particular. "Alpha females give birth to alphas all the time. They don't give birth to half-blood even if their partner is an omega." Then your father's bloodline must have been stronger than that of your mother to overwhelm her alpha genes.

If Maria Sinclair was determined to hide the truth, she didn't believe that her mother would tell her anything. To her least favourite daughter, to boot.
Something crunched behind her, and she whipped around. Her eyes widened when she saw a familiar face. "Inez!" Dominic shouted from the spot where he was standing.
Inez had no idea what this man was doing in town or why he was even here, but she didn't have the tto worry about that. She whirled around on her feet and started running; the only thought in her head was that she couldn't be caught. Not by him.
"Inez, wait!" Like hell she was going to wait. Instead of waiting, Inez picked up her pace, and at the stime, she tried to calm her heart down and change the colour of her hair. She cursed herself for being so casual and careless. Even when Tracy told her that they were going on a drive around the territory, she should have changed her appearance.
It was her fault for being greedy. For choosing to stay in her true form for just a day. Sure enough, greed was truly the downfall of many.
However, even when Inez tried her best to change her appearance, nothing seemed to be working because she just couldn't focus. And the sound of footsteps running and coming close echoed behind her. Terror rose to her heart and maybe beyond that because she could feel her throat clogging up.
"Stop right there!" Dominic's roar erupted behind her, and she could feel his rage waft over her and envelop her like it had many more times in the past. Her heart started thumping wildly in her chest, and her mind suddenly went blank. Inez could feel her legs seizing as if they couldn't move even the slightest, which was terrifying in itself.
All kinds of thoughts started to replay in her head. Getting dragged back to the Venus pack and then being locked up in the prison cell, where Evelyn might cevery day and mock her for trying to escape, for even thinking that she could ever be free. The fear was real, and it was bone-crushingly heavy.
I don't want to be caught. I don't want to go back there-no! She had finally found herself a place, even if she could not be free there—at least she was as free as she could be as a siren. Killian, Ajax, Selene-these people cared about her, and maybe the rest of the pack also did. At least they cared more than Dominic or his pack could ever. After all, they had never disclosed her hiding in the Blood Hill Pack.
Of course, Killian's threat was also at work, but now that Inez had slowly integrated herself into the pack, she and the pack members had grown closer. At least no one looked at her as if she didn't belong there, and even if there were a few, Inez knew that their numbers were slowly going down with Selene getting better.
And just when she thought that she was going to topple over and grandly fall on her face, someone catches her. Their thin arms curled around her waist, and a scream erupted through Inez's throat.
"Shut up," a familiar voice echoed in her ears, and Inez snapped her head up. The second her eyes met with Tracy's, she could feel the relief surging in her body.
"You-how did you—" "Not now, sweetie," Tracy said as she tapped her temples with her fingers. "Usually I don't use this; it's mad expensive, but given that we are in a hurry and an emergency. I can only use it."
After she finished speaking, Inez realised that Tracy had not tapped her fingers on her temples; she had poured something on top of her head. The warm, slimy liquid trickled down her spine and forehead. Inez didn't understand what was going on; that was until she lowered her head and stared at her hands, which her turned almost invisible.
No, not invisible. Tracy had turned her into a perfect human chameleon, which meant that her skin was now We the colours of her surroundings, hiding her perfectly as she blended into the colours behind and around her.
"Don't move," Tracy told her as she stepped past her and cto a stop in front. With her arms crossed, she el raised her head and glared at the man who cto stand in front of her. "Why are you chasing me, you bastard?"
