“What on earth happened?”

Sebastian asked with a grim face.

“Nothing. | just accidentally bumped into something.”

Madelyn smiled and tried to pull her sleeve down to hide the injury.

“Don’t move.” Sebastian insisted.

The bruise was glaringly obvious, a large swollen area.

If it was just a bump, it wouldn't look like this.

He scoffed. “This injury clearly looks like someone hit you. How could it just be a bump?”

Sebastian sighed, realizing she wouldn't tell him the truth no matter how much he asked.

He turned off the stove, gently took her hand, and led her to the couch.

Then he went to get the first-aid kit and carefully applied medicine to her injury.

Seeing Sebastian's caring actions, Madelyn was pleased inwardly.

Despite appearing aloof, Sebastian was still concerned about her.

This thought made Madelyn feel a warm glow of joy.

As she was smiling despite being hurt, Sebastian frowned. “How can you still smile?”

“Why wouldn't | smile? Even though I'm injured, | have you,” Madelyn replied playfully.

Sebastian snorted, “You're fearless until it's too late.”

He couldn’t help but warn her, “Be more careful in the future. What if you get seriously injured one day?”

Madelyn tilted her head playfully. “That won't happen.”

She added, “And besides, you'll save me, right?”

Sebastian snorted again. Seeing she hadn't learned her lesson, he deliberately applied more pressure while

treating her wound.

“Ow! Sebastian, be gentle! It hurts,” Madelyn cried out.

good?”
