Chapter 100 What Is She Here For
Eileen contacted Alan to pick up Vera first while she took Yvette’s private car directly to Eric’s
company.
Compared to the Friedman family’s Friedman Group, the Swan family was merely an inconspicuous
nouveau riche. The Friedman Group building, worth several hundred million, was located in the city
center and owned by the Friedman Group. Its value was expected to increase by dozens of times in the
future.
Whether it was Eric marrying into the family or Yvette entering the Swan family, Eric would. always be
the winner.
The driver in the car raised the partition. Yvette had already changed out of her school uniform and was
applying lipstick in front of the mirror. Letting her hair down, she turned to Eileen and asked, “Do I look
good?”
A melancholic veil shrouded Eileen’s eyes, making her emotions inscrutable. She felt an indescribable
sense of strangeness in her chest. Tentatively, she asked, “Do you… truly like my brother?”
Yvette nodded without any attempt to hide her feelings. Her eyes were bright, radiating light. “Of course
I like him. Why else would I go to such lengths to find him?”
“He’s eight years older than you, doesn’t that bother you? By the time you graduate from college, he’ll
be nearing thirty, while you’ll still be in your prime. Perhaps… in these years. you might meet someone
better than him… I think you should reconsider this. Don’t give your heart away so quickly!”
Yvette expressed her disdain with a scoff. “That’s true. He’s quite old. But he’s only eight years. older,
which isn’t too bad. My parents have a twelve-year age gap, and they get along just fine. My dad
listens to my mom in everything, a perfect example of a henpecked husband. But I haven’t thought that
far ahead. I like him for now. Who knows if I’ll still like him in the future? And I’ve never met a man who
pays me so little regard.” She grabbed Eileen and said, “Eileen, do you know? He’s the first person
who dared to scold me. Even though he knows. I’m from the Friedman family, he never fawns over me
like others do, always agreeing with me. You have no idea how fed up I am with all the people I’ve
known since childhood, all of them insincere, either after my status or the Friedman family’s money.”
Eileen was rendered speechless.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtYvette asked, “Do you think this dress looks good on me? Will it be a bit cold?”
Eileen gazed thoughtfully at the innocent and lively Yvette. She really didn’t understand Eric. How
would I know if all of this wasn’t his plan? It’s possible that even their encounter was orchestrated by
Eric himself.

The art of playing hard to get isn’t just a game women know how to play; it seems that he, too, is quite
adept at these mind games.
One by one, these women devoted themselves to him wholeheartedly. After giving their all, they were
trampled upon at his whim. He simply doesn’t know how to love someone. Perhaps his heart has long
been given to someone else.
Falling in love with him will inevitably lead to an abyss of hell…
This was her decision to make, and Eileen couldn’t interfere. Even if she told her everything. Yvette
simply wouldn’t listen. She would only think that Eileen was trying to sow discord…
Falling in love with someone has nothing to do with being rational. Even if one knows it’s wrong, one
will still blindly follow one’s heart into the darkness.
Eileen said, “He doesn’t like…”
“Hmm? What is it?” Yvette continued to fix her hair in front of the mirror.
“Your makeup is too heavy. Eric won’t like it.”
Since it’s all about making use, for her sake and for my own, she wants to be with Eric, so I’ll help her.
“Huh? What should I do, then?” Yvette quickly wiped off her lipstick with a piece of also toning down
her eyeshadow.
“Come, let me help you.”
paper,
Eileen wiped off the makeup from her face and reapplied it with a light and elegant touch. In truth, she
was quite a sight to behold, with a dignified and impressive appearance that was comforting to look at
over time. Heavy makeup didn’t suit her. Instead, a lighter touch of makeup was more fitting for her.
“Will he really like it this way?”
Eileen capped the eyebrow pencil and handed it back to her. “My brother is a bit slow to warm up and
doesn’t know how to make girls happy. He’s like a block of ice that needs to be melted by someone’s
warmth. Yvie, if my brother does anything wrong, please don’t be
with him.”
angry
“Don’t worry! If it’s something I want, there’s nothing I can’t get, including your brother.”
Eileen hoped that Yvette would have all her wishes come true.
Skyline Building
Caerulus Corporation’s office space spanned the 32nd and 33rd floors. Eric’s office had

already moved to the 34th floor, which included a lounge and a meeting room. In total, there were over
a hundred employees.
In the past, Eileen would often come to bother Eric. She was so familiar with the company that she
could navigate it with ease. The receptionists would be terrified whenever they saw Eileen, as she was
notoriously difficult to deal with.
The receptionist said, “Ms. Eileen, are you here to see Mr. Snow? He’s currently in a meeting. so you
might need to wait a bit.”
“Pour me a cup of plain boiled water, thank you!” Eileen had already sent Yvette to the 34th floor,
deciding not to be a third wheel. So, she went to the nearby rest area,
“All right… okay.” The receptionist stammered in surprise. Thank you? The fact that Eileen. thanked her
was downright terrifying, to the point where she even doubted whether there. was something wrong
with her ears.
Eileen sat on the couch, pulling out a beauty magazine from the side, and began to flip through it out of
boredom.
Gavin was attending to some matters on the 32nd floor when the receptionist stopped him. “Mr. Walsh,
there’s a document here that needs to be given to Mr. Snow.”
Gavin picked up the courier document bag and, out of the corner of his eye, noticed a figure in the
adjacent reception room. Who else could it be but Eileen?
If Eileen is here, then who just went upstairs?
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGavin’s expression darkened. “What is she doing here?”
The receptionist glanced discreetly and whispered, “I’m not sure. She just came in and sat down! Mr.
Walsh, do you think something else has happened?”
“Pay less attention to these matters. Focus more on your work.”
“Alright then.” With that single sentence, the receptionist didn’t dare to ask any more questions. She
simply stood there, infatuated, watching Gavin disappear into the elevator.
After an unknown amount of time, Eileen had lost track of how many cups of hot water she had
consumed, and she had also finished all the test papers in her hand.
Putting away her pencil case, Eileen looked out at the darkening sky. The exhibition banquet should
have ended by now.
Glancing at the time, it was already half past seven.
Not only was Eileen feeling drowsy, but Yvette, who was sitting in the CEO’s exclusive chair,
3/4
was also struggling to stay awake…
Eileen waited another twenty minutes. It was almost eight o’clock.
She didn’t plan on waiting any longer. She packed up her bag, stood up, and informed the receptionist
who was still on duty, “If anyone asks for me, just tell them I’ve already left.”
The receptionist nodded. “Alright, Ms. Eileen.
34th floor
CEO’s office
Eric had just finished discussing the collaboration project. As he stepped out, he glanced at his
wristwatch. “Where is the person?”
Gavin replied, “In the office.”
Upon opening the office door, he saw Yvette, who was sound asleep at his desk.
His piercing gaze scanned the surroundings once more, only to find her alone.
Eric paused, his gaze lingering. After a moment, he turned around, one hand in his pocket as he
walked away. “Wake her up. Tell her to wait on the first floor.”
Gavin responded, “Understood.”
“From now on, no one is allowed in the office without my permission,” he said, clearly displeased.
“Noted!”
