Chapter 359

"When it comes to marriage, children should listen to their parents. Your

grandfather never expected you to turn out to be so useless! Having your sister take your place was acceptable

to the Savage family. It would benefit our family as well!" Harold argued.

"So, you didn't hesitate to give away the position that originally belonged to me," Yolanda countered with a

sneer.

Harold kept talking about doing what was best for the Henderson family. However, he never once considered

Yolanda's opinion or treated her as a member of the family.

In their eyes, even if Yvonne used small tricks, it was just a trivial matter. But when it cto Yolanda, if there

was even the slightest thing they didn't approve of, they would criticize her for being incompetent and a

disgrace to their family, no matter how well she performed.

This prejudice had taken root long ago. It had started back when Yvonne first began secretly plotting against the

original Yolanda. Their biased treatment of Yolanda had becdeeply ingrained over time.

Although Yolanda felt an intense dislike for people like Harold and Diana, they were still the original Yolanda's

parents at the end of the day. She didn't want to go against the original Yolanda's wishes in an overly extreme

manner.

But now, it seemed that adopting sextrmethods occasionally might not be such a bad idea. The current

Yolanda had only shown a bit of defiance, yet Harold and Diana were already this agitated. This meant that the

conflicts within the Henderson family would only get worse in the future.

To the present-day Yolanda, passively accepting injustice was no longer an option. Rejecting inequality would

becher new norm. The first step to making Harold and Diana accept this change was to make them realize

that the Yolanda before them now was no longer the daughter they could control at will.

"What's the harm in making a small sacrifice for the benefit of the family?" Harold lectured Yolanda self-

righteously.

If something as significant as a marriage could be dismissed as a "small sacrifice", then it was clear that

anything related to Yolanda was expendable in Harold's eyes.

"Then why not have Yvonne make the sacrifice?" Yolanda shot back.

Diana interjected immediately, "The daughter-in-law that the Savage family approved of is Yvonne! Do you think

you'll be able to marry into their family if they don't approve of you?"

"Gavin likes me," Yolanda declared.

She glanced at Yvonne when she said that. Although Yvonne was displaying her usual understanding and pitiful

look, she might have rushed over to fight her by now if their parents hadn't been present in the living room.

To this day, the thing Yvonne probably found the hardest to accept was that Gavin, whom she had a crush on for

the longest time, had chosen Yolanda instead.

If it had been anyone else, Yolanda might not have deliberately stayed with them just to get under Yvonne's skin.

But as fate would have it, the person in question happened to be Gavin. He was the one person Yolanda wouldn't

give up regardless of the circumstances.

"So what if he likes you? What's his love worth?" Diana dismissed her words without a second thought. She

added, "You're both still young and are just fooling around. Do you think you'll ever be fit to becthe Savage

family's daughter-in-law with your appearance?"

Diana had never understood why Gavin would choose the fat and stupid Yolanda over the beautiful and clever

Yvonne as his fiancée.

"Besides, even if he chooses you now, it doesn't mean he genuinely likes you. Instead of relying on a man, it's

better to rely on yourself!" Diana stressed.

Although everything she said sounded like she had Yolanda's best interests at heart, in reality, she just didn't

want Yolanda representing the family and embarrassing her in public.

Moreover, Priscilla had repeatedly emphasized that if Yvonne wasn't the one who would go through with the

marriage, then the engagement between the two families would be called off entirely.

So, whether it was for her own dignity or for the Henderson family's interests, Diana had to find a way to remove

Yolanda from her position as Gavin's fiancée.
