Chapter 351

Dunstan looked back at Yolanda, seemingly wanting to say something but hesitating.

The others observed Dunstan's reaction and guessed that Lucas was beyond saving. If not, why would he appear

so conflicted instead of rushing to provide aid?

Among the crowd, Darius, who had accompanied Maria to pick up medicine, stepped forward calmly. He was a

retired official. After checking Lucas' carotid artery, he sighed and shook his head.

"He has no pulse..."

His words deepened the somber atmosphere in the room.

Witnessing someone die right before their eyes was a shock no one could easily bear.

Darius sighed, feeling sorry for both Yolanda and Willow Creek Clinic.

A death in the clinic was a catastrophic event. Regardless of whether there was a direct connection, the clinic

would have to shut down.

Willow Creek Clinic had been around for a century. Darius had been treated there since childhood, and he truly

didn't want to see it shut down.

"Is he really dead?" Upon learning of Lucas' death, the other patients around began to panic.

Swere uneasy, fearing that the medicine they had received might be problematic.

Others lamented Lucas’ death, while a few curious onlookers pulled out their phones to record the scene.

At first, they whispered amongst themselves, but gradually, their voices grew louder.

"How could he just die like that?"

"I saw him taking smedicine before he died."

"Aren't traditional medicines supposed to work slowly? How could he die right after taking them? Could it be

poison?"

The crowd erupted in loud discussions. Their faces reflected suspicion and fear as they stepped back, as if

something sinister lurked in the clinic.

However, most were there for the spectacle. Aside from a few who felt uneasy and left, most stayed near the

entrance, eager to see how things unfolded.

"Ms. Henderson, that man really has no breath," Dunstan finally approached Yolanda and said in a hushed tone.

"What do we do now?"

His face was pale, and he was clearly shaken.

His family ran a clinic, so he certainly knew that a death in the clinic was a major taboo.

Private clinics like theirs typically treated minor or chronic illnesses, so a death was almost unheard of. If

someone died, it implied there were issues with the clinic or that the doctors were incompetent.

Regardless of whether Lucas' death was linked to Willow Creek Clinic, their reputation would suffer tremendously.

Who would dare seek treatment at a clinic where someone had died?

Yolanda nodded. At the stime, she crouched down beside Lucas to check his pulse.

Soon, a subtle understanding crossed her face. It was just as she suspected.

"Dr. Henderson, you should contact the patient's family. It's best if you can resolve this privately. Otherwise, it'll

tarnish Willow Creek Clinic's reputation," Darius whispered, offering a solution.

He was looking out for Yolanda. If they could settle this privately, the medical malpractice would likely result in a

payout of one to two million dollars at most, which would be the best outcome.

"Don't worry, Mr. Singer. Since this happened in my clinic, | will give everyone an explanation." Yolanda raised

her voice, addressing Darius and speaking to the others present.

Although Darius meant well, even if they settled the matter privately, it would inevitably escalate and attract a

lot of attention.

The people there would tell their friends, and word would spread quickly. By then, Willow Creek Clinic's

reputation would be irreparably damaged.

Hence, they absolutely could not resolve this privately.
