Chapter 313
After the housekeeper opened the door, eight uniformed men walked straight into the Henderson residence
without introducing themselves. They immediately asked the housekeeper, "Are Harold and Yvonne at home?"
"Yes... but who are you?" The housekeeper, caught off guard and confused, felt a rising panic.
"What's going on? You're always making a fuss!" Diana, annoyed by the commotion, stepped out of the dining
room. She initially thought it was just a sales call, and she wondered why the housekeeper sounded so flustered.
When she saw the group of uniformed men in the living room, her irritation vanished, replaced by shock and
concern.
"Who are you?" She struggled to maintain her composure, though a flicker of alarm crossed her eyes. These men

"Are Harold and Yvonne at home? "the group's leader, a serious-looking young man, asked Diana.
"I'm Yehuda Pace from the Criminal Investigative Division. We are investigating a commercial fraud case and
suspect that Yvonne has used improper means to bribe for a project for Henderson Group. The president of
Henderson Group may also need to bear sresponsibility."
"Bribery? How could this be? Officer, you must be mistaken..." Diana's expression changed as she hurriedly
explained, "Yvonne is the most obedient child. How could she possibly use improper means to bribe anyone?"
"What's going on?" Harold and Yvonne, sensing Diana's distress, cout from the dining room.
Yolanda, aware of the commotion, also left the dining room. She quickly recognized Yehuda as one of Joel's
subordinates. She feigned ignorance and stood aside to watch.
"Honey, they're saying Yvonne is involved in bribery..." Diana looked at the cold- faced officers and felt her
composure slip. "You need to explain to them that Yvonne is innocent!"
"Bribery?" Harold's expression turned to disbelief as he looked at Yvonne. "How could this be? She's just a young
lady!"
"Is she?" Yehuda scoffed. "Young ladies don't understand about kickbacks on project payments!
"Andy has already confessed that Yvonne assured him if she secured the project from Dunhill Group for
Henderson Group, then Henderson Group would funnel three percent of the project funds into his private
account."
"What? Yvonne, did you really say that?" Harold's eyes widened in anger, and disbelief etched on his face.
The authorities had recently been cracking down on all forms of corruption in business, and making such
promises during this twas equivalent to courting disaster.
"Dad, I..." Yvonne stammered, trying to explain but unable to form a reasonable excuse.
After all, she hadn't signed the contract; she had merely heard from Riley about how Yolanda had leveraged her
relationship with Gavin to intimidate Andy and secure a contract that even Harold had struggled to negotiate.
To cover her own tracks, she bribed Riley 500 thousand dollars to back up her false claims. Who would have
thought that the Criminal Investigative Division would actually cto investigate?
Even if there was a bribery case, it should have been Yolanda's doing, not hers!
