Chapter 1724

Stella and Cordelia were engrossed in a conversation in the living room when footsteps interrupted them. Stella,

who had been wearing a smile, swiftly composed herself, her gaze turning chilly.

She turned to Cordelia and said, "Grandma, I've got some errands to run later. I better head off now."

"Lunch is almost ready. I had them prepare some of your favorite dishes. You should grab a bite before you leave,"

Cordelia tried to convince her to stay.

Stella declined politely, "Sorry, Grandma, but I have plans to meet some friends for lunch at half past twelve. I'm

afraid I won't make it on time if I stay any longer. It isn't ideal for me to be late since we're colleagues."

Not wanting to insist, Cordelia relented, "Alright then. I'll have Corrin pack your favorite dishes for you to take

home.

You can enjoy them later."

"You make it so hard to refuse, Grandma," Stella sighed.

Pleased with Stella's agreement, Cordelia grabbed her arm and said, "Come, let's go to the kitchen. You can pick

the dishes you want us to pack for you."

As they walked a few steps forward, Cordelia suddenly remembered something and turned to her grandson,"

Keegan, take Jaylene to wash her hands. Lunch will be ready soon."

Jaylene felt somewhat uncomfortable as she noticed the obvious contrast in Cordelia's treatment toward her. She

was warm and affectionate toward Stella, even more so than when she was with Aurora.

Keegan glanced briefly at the kitchen and said to Jaylene," Come on. Let's go."

Jaylene lowered her gaze and tagged along.

In the bustling kitchen, Corrin and the household staff were busy preparing a variety of aromatic dishes. Corrin's

culinary skills were on par with Felicity’s, evidenced by Vermont's prolonged appreciation for her cooking.

While Cordelia directed the other staff to pack the food, she asked Stella, "Do you like fish porridge?"

"I've never tried it," Stella admitted.

Cordelia introduced the dish with a smile by lifting the lid of a ceramic pot, "It's Corrin's recipe. She enhances it with

seafood broth. I find it delicious. Give it a sniff."

Before Stella approached the pot, she smelled an overwhelming fishy odor, triggering an immediate wave of

nausea. She quickly covered her mouth, retreated to the side, and took a moment to hold her queasiness.

Her reaction left Cordelia taken aback, "Are you okay, Stella? n

Stella nodded, "I'm fine. My stomach isn't doing well lately. I became sensitive to meaty odors. I feel like vomiting as

soon as I smell them."

Cordelia's face changed slightly. She covered the pot, looked at Stella seriously, and asked, "How long has this been

going on?"

Stella furrowed her brows, "About a week, I think. I haven't kept track."

Cordelia calculated the days in her mind, and her eyes assumed a more profound and unpredictable gaze.

"Have you taken any medicine?"

"It's just a minor stomach issue. There's no need for medication," Stella assured her.

Cordelia did not continue the topic. Instead, she motioned for Stella to pick her favorite dishes and said, "Take a

look and see what other dishes you want. I'll have Corrin pack them for you."

Stella smiled while shaking her head, "Grandma, this is enough for me to eat."

"Alright. If you ever crave something specific, let me know. I'll have Corrin send it over."

Stella expressed her gratitude and left.

After seeing Stella off, Cordelia chuckled unexpectedly." What is it?" Baldwin asked.

Cordelia shook her head and muttered after a while, "She went around in circles..."
