"Are you sure it's nothing?" He pressed on with a frown.
Harper just smiled, "Of course, what else could it be?" Her eyes then blinked nervously, but she quickly stopped herself.
Benjamin, of course, noticed it. He narrowed his penetrating eyes as he looked straight into Harper's as if he wanted to peer into her soul.
After a long while, he finally spoke up, "Harper, you're not pregnant, are you?" Benjamin's choice of words was "you're not pregnant, are you?" instead of "are you pregnant?" Although there was just a slight difference in wording, it had significant implications.
Harper's eyes trembled slightly, and her heart ached terribly as if an unseen force was gripping it.
She mused, "Benjamin didn't hesitate at all to outright dismiss the possibility of pregnancy. He didn't show any doubt whatsoever." Harper met Benjamin's gaze squarely and asked with a faint smile, "If I were really pregnant, would you be willing to letkeep the baby?" "You couldn't possibly be pregnant," he stated firmly, his deep eyes reflecting unwavering resolve.
Benjamin's reaction deeply hurt Harper. She thought, "So, deep down, he never considered the possibility of us having a child." She suppressed her discomfort and said with a light smile, "Since you're so sure, then why are you doubting? After all, you've always taken precautions every twe have sex. Have you forgotten?" Except for that one twhen Benjamin was drunk, which he didn't remember afterward, and Harper wouldn't bring it up either.
Her expression remained unchanged when she said that, revealing no flaws.
Harper's response was exactly what Benjamin wanted to hear, but when he saw her mocking smirk, his handsface tensed up slightly. He then felt as if something sharp had brushed against his heart, stirring up indescribable emotions.

Benjamin fell silent at her words. His brows furrowed even tighter, and his distinguished face was as cold as ice without a trace of warmth.
