Chapter 112
Acacia got a real smackdown.
“I’ve said it over and over again: whatever your plans are, don’t drag Glynnis in! If you continue this sh
it, don’t blame me for playing hardball!”
“I messed up. I acted impulsively, I swear I won’t do it again!”
Acacia was burning up inside, but she had to keep groveling to Elspeth.
Elspeth sneered at this woman, who was bowing and scraping.
If the Frost Group weren’t short on manpower, there was no way she would back a disobedient and
scheming woman like Acacia marrying Thaddeus!
But, as they say, train soldiers for a thousand days and use them for an hour. After nurturing Acacia for
so many years, she didn’t want to ditch this tool at a crucial moment.
Tonight’s events left a bad taste in her mouth, but despite all that, she had to keep using this tool!
“Now that Ilana is the heiress of the Ashbourne family, a notoriously pampering family led by Emeric,
you won’t be able to lay a hand on her! The most important thing now is for you to win Thaddeus’s
heart as quickly as possible and marry him according to plan! That’s what matters the most!”
Elspeth’s lips were tight, matching her red lipstick, she looked downright menacing.
“But Thaddeus clearly wants to cut ties with me! Like Mr. Frederic said, once Thaddeus thinks about
breaking up with me, no one can stop him!”
Acacia, seeing her dream of marrying into a wealthy family teetering on the brink, burst into tears
again.
“But he hasn’t decided to take that step yet!” Elspeth’s eyes were cold as she suddenly grabbed
Acacia’s shoulder. “Acacia, don’t contact Thaddeus for the next few days; don’t leave the house; don’t
see anyone; give everyone the impression that you’re deeply troubled because of Thaddeus!”
“Will this work?” Acacia expressed doubt.
“Acacia, you might have to eat some humble pie and endure some hardship. But listen to me, only by
stirring up a man’s deep memories of you and reminding him of your good side can you win his heart
back!”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAt night, Thaddeus sat in his study, smoking one cigarette after another, surrounded by smoke, his
deep eyes looking hazy and his face stern and noble.
Thinking of Evadne’s words, “See you at nine tomorrow morning. Let’s finish the divorce proceedings at
the court,” he couldn’t sleep.
As for Evadne, after visiting Cas s ius in the hospital, Jason and Emeric took her back to her villa in
Elmsworth.
After all, she had to go to court with Thaddeus for a formal divorce in the morning, so she had to
somehow send Emeric, the big shot, back to Skyrim.
After removing her makeup, taking a bath, and doing her skincare, she ate a bowl of noodles, put on an
eye mask, and fell asleep until dawn.
Due to some twists and turns at Mr. Hamiltion’s birthday banquet yesterday, Evadne had expended a
lot of energy, so when she woke up, it was already eight o’clock in the morning, and she didn’t even
have breakfast!
“Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?”
Evadne, with tas sel earrings and a slightly furrowed brow, descended the stairs.
Jason hurried over in his apron, seeing Evadne, who was pretty much makeup-free.
Her skin was delicate and clear, her eyes bright, her lips rosy, and she was so beautiful that it was hard
to look away.
Even though he could see her like this every day, he was always amazed and never got tired of it.
“I saw you were really tired last night so I didn’t wake you up. I wanted you to sleep longer.”
“But you can’t do that. Today is the day I get a divorce!” Evadne glared at Jason discontentedly, saying,
“I always respect time, plus if I’m late on a day like this, that arrogant jerk Thaddeus might think I can’t
let him go.”
“I’ve been waiting for this day, it’s really something to celebrate.” Jason said it sincerely.
“Yeah, you see, I even wore a new dress to celebrate this day.” Evadne twirled around.
Jason was worried that Evadne might feel uncomfortable on this day, but it turned out his worries were
unnecessary.
“Ms. Evadne, have some food before you go.”
“No time; pack it up for me; I’ll eat it in the car!”
To make Evadne more comfortable, Jason didn’t drive the sports car today but chose the Rolls-Royce
instead.
Evadne was eating a sandwich and tapping on her laptop, still handling work.
*Recently, our team has been trying hard to get in touch with Ada, but that woman is really tough, she
won’t even accept our company’s invitation!” Jason grumbled while driving. “Our team only had two
phone calls with her agent, and we haven’t seen her yet!”
“What about the Abernathy Group?” Evadne asked.
“As far as I know, they haven’t made any progress either.”
“That’s good; then we’re not behind the Abernathy Group, we’re still on the same starting line.”
“But it’s not just us and the Abernathy Group competing! I heard that many high-end hotels in the
country are competing for the right to host Ada’s wedding.”
“In the hotel industry, the Abernathy Group and the Ashbourne Group have always been the epitomes
of this country. Ada is so picky, how can she be interested in other small brands?” Evadne took a bite of
her sandwich, her eyes sharp. “Keep contacting her team to show her our sincerity. I will meet with Ada
in person when she comes to the country at the beginning of next month and finalize this matter, Let
the Abernathy Group abandon all hope!”
Those who touch her interests must pay the price!
On the way to the court, they pa**ed the city hall, where couples were lining up to get married. They
were either hugging each other or taking sweet selfies, the atmosphere was filled with happiness, as if
the clouds in the sky were heart-shaped.
At this moment, a Rolls-Royce stopped in front of the court next door, attracting the envious eyes of all
the lovebirds.
Evadne was sitting in the back row, glancing at her watch. It was exactly nine o’clock.

Chapter 112
“Can’t believe Thaddeus couldn’t even make it here early.” Jason sneered, “Acting all high and mighty.”
“Leave him be: let him put on airs.” Evadne, looking at the couples outside the window, traced a
profound smile. “I’ve already waited for him plenty of times. This is the last time; it doesn’t matter if I

Three years ago, when she and Thaddeus went to register for marriage, she waited for him alone at
the city hall entrance for an entire day.
Just as city hall was about to close, Thaddeus strolled in without a single word of apology and hastily
registered their marriage at the last minute.
Despite this, she was so happy that she couldn’t sleep that night.
Now, thinking back, she felt she had been too humble back then. Now she understood that loving
someone started with loving yourself.
After another half an hour of waiting, as Evadne’s patience was gradually wearing thin, a taxi stopped
at the door.
When Thaddeus stepped out of the taxi, she could hardly believe her eyes.
“Oh my Go d, am I seeing this right? Mr. Thaddeus actually took a taxi? What happened to his fancy
car?” Jason’s eyes widened.
“Maybe he wanted to keep a low profile. After all, getting divorced isn’t exactly something to brag
about.”
Evadne yawned and got out of the car with Jason.
Today, Thaddeus was still dressed in his favorite wide-collar black suit with thin gray stripes, a misty
blue shirt, and a dark tie. He was serious, calm, and disciplined, just like his personality.
The moment this handsome man appeared, he caught everyone’s attention. The girls were excited and
would have probably screamed if they weren’t with their boyfriends.
And when Evadne confidently walked towards Thaddeus, all the men couldn’t hide their excitement!
“Wow. Look at her face; it’s so fresh and clear, like a piece of fresh fruit. Is that her real skin?”
“She looks like she’s not wearing makeup. Her dress is so pretty! Probably cost a fortune!”
“Definitely a fake no-makeup look! It just means she’s good at applying makeup to look natural!”
“That just shows she has a good base! Others can’t achieve this look no matter how they try!”
These young people, who usually either watched dramas or variety shows, didn’t recognize this
handsome man as the CEO of the Abernathy Group, Thaddeus.
The taxi added to the disguise of his identity.
Evadne stood before him, her gaze cold. “Mr. Thaddeus?”
“Something came up on the way; I’m late.” Thaddeus spoke first, moving his lips slightly. “I’m sorry.”
