Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMany of the distinguished men and women of Moonstone City wanted to rub shoulders with Jack Davis, the CEO of Davis & Co. They showed up in luxury cars and brought expensive gifts to impress the family.
A reporter from KB Entertainment stood in front of the camera as she live-streamed the event.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered at the biggest event of the year where the CEO of Davis & Co. will introduce his one and only daughter to the world. Everyone is eager to meet Miss Davis, including Moonstone City's most eligible bachelor, Ryan Kingsley, who is accompanied by his fiancee, Ivy Williams. It seems the esteemed CEO is also interested in meeting the lost daughter of the Davis family...." As the reporter continued, a tall handsman in a dark tailor-made suit walked through the doors and entered the hall. He scoffed when he heard the reporter's words.
He wasn't 'interested' in meeting the lost daughter. His goal was to form a partnership with Jack Davis for his new jewelry company.
The man was none other than, Ryan Kingsley, the CEO of the Kingsley group. He was tall with dark hair and a sharp angular jaw that could cut a diamond. He had a trimmed, neat beard that gave him a sexy, manly look. "Ryan, over here!" A soft voice called out from one side of the hall.
Ryan glanced over and saw Ivy Williams. He smiled and approached her, asking, "Have you talked to Mr Davis yet?" Ivy chuckled awkwardly. She had left earlier on to see Mr Davis but she was sent back by his security. Everyone who wanted to see the man had to wait until the event. It didn't help that her father knew him.
"I just decided to wait for him right here. Don't worry, Ryan. I'll help you secure a partnership with Mr Davis. He's my father's friend, so he will have to givesface," Ivy said.
Ryan shoved his hands into his pockets and nodded. He had no choice but to rely on Ivy since his efforts to contact Jack Davis were futile. It seemed the man was purposefully ignoring him for sreason.
It didn't take long for the MC to announce that Mr Davis had arrived and everyone's attention shifted to the doors.
A minute later, a man in his fifties walked through the doors with an elegant woman by his side. It was his wife, Freya Davis, who was also a famous jewelry designer.
"There he is, come, let's go and say hi. I'll introduce him to you," Ivy said confidently.
Ryan nodded and pushed Ivy's wheelchair. They approached Jack Davis and his wife when they stopped to greet a few guests.
Ivy smiled and called out, "Uncle Davis!" Jack Davis turned his head when he heard someone calling him. He frowned when he saw that it was Ivy. "Remember me? I'm the daughter of-" "Good evening," Jack Davis brushed Ivy off with a greeting and proceeded without sparing Ryan a glance. Ivy's face turned as red as a tomato. She didn't expect Jack Davis to ignore her in front of all these people. "I thought you said you were family friends?" Ryan asked, finding it odd that Jack ignored Ivy who claimed to know him on a personal level.
"Perhaps he doesn't recognise me.... Since I'm a cripple now," Ivy murmured, her words making Ryan frown. "Forget it. I'll get through to him after the event," Ryan replied gently.
"Ladies and gentlemen." Jack Davis got on the stage and grabbed the microphone. "You're all welcome." The lively crowd immediately fell quiet, and everyone looked at the Davis couple on the stage.
"Thank you all for your support. Davis Group is moving its business center back to the country from today, Jack announced.

"Now, letintroduce you to my long-lost daughter. Please welcto the stage, Lora Davis!" uto Suddenly, there was a commotion at the entrance. A woman walked into the hall and immediately grabbed everyone's attention.
She was dressed elegantly. Her skin was fair and she had her dark brown hair pulled into an elegant updo. She was wearing an open-back sapphire blue evening gown with light makeup on her face that brought out her beautiful features. Ryan turned to have a look at what everyone was looking at. However, when he saw the woman who was entering the hall, his jaw dropped to the floor and his eyes widened. 'Larisa?' He thought in his mind.
Was he dreaming? The woman looked so much like his dead wife, Larisa Bennett, Like Ryan, Ivy was equally shocked. She looked pale and murmured, "Is that Larisa? How's that possible? She's dead!" However, Ryan didn't respond. His gaze was fixed on the goddess-like woman who looked so much like his wife.
Ivy's heart sank when she noticed that Ryan's attention had been taken by the mysterious woman. She clenched her hands into fists as fear crept into her... who was that woman and why did she look like Larisa? The crowd erupted in applause as Lora Davis got up the stage gracefully. She approached her father with a smile on her face.
Taking the microphone, she smiled at the audience and said, "Hello everyone, I am Lora Davis. Fam back lam and I be taking over as the CEO of Davis & Co. Jewelry Company from now on."
