Chapter 365: Scaling through...
~Earlier~ After Davis noticed the change in the room, he took a deep breath, forcing himself to retain his consciousness and keep his thoughts straight.
Yet, with the lady's act of trying to cling to him, keeping his consciousness becpensively difficult.
But with so many issues at stake, he forced himself to act normal and remain in charge of his thoughts. With no one around, and with the aphrodisiac seemingly inhaled, he made a decision to seek the origin and how it dispersed.
A quick recollection of the series of actions he had taken since he arrived.
Since he hadn't taken anything since his arrival into the box, and this scent had circulated in the room just when the lady stepped in.
It was clear she was the source of the smell, but where was it placed? This was a question he needed to answer really fast.
Taking a quick glance around the room, he decided to take a major gamble. "You wait forfor a second, I want to get something," he said.

Davis felt the veins of his body pulsating, yet he kept reminding himself he could not fail and that all was a plot to see him fail.
Slowly, he got his hand on the centre table and lunged forward, his intention to inflict pain on himself. The lady felt scared and hurried to hold him back.
The wine in the tray she had served nearly fell from the table, but she hurriedly held it in place, her brow furrowed in contemplation as she stared at Davis.
Davis took a deep breath, his senses stirred more clearly as his legs numbed from the impact and pain coursed through his body.
With so much pain in his leg, he stood up and staggered to the door, his hand holding on the wall as though he clung onto life.
Carefully, he pulled the key of the door, holding it in his hand as the lady rushed forward. "Just a moment and I will be back," he said, casting a fleeting glance at her.
Without any further action, he yanked the door open and stepped into the hallway, clicking the door shut behind him. The fresh air washed over his face, patting it gently.
The lady, not expecting him to be swift, pounded hard on the door, but Davis, with the key in his hand, locked up the room.
He stood with his hand holding the knob with quiet strength and one motive clear-to keep her indoors. After a bit, he staggered to the restroom. After splashing his face with water, he returned to the hallway. Just in tfor a waiter walking past him, Davis requested a tie and the waiter willingly sold it to him. Seeing him leave, Davis unlocked the door and went in. This time, his goals were clear.
He swiftly adjusted the air conditioner to the maximum as it recirculated the air.
Certain the scent had been from her skin, yet she wasn't affected, meant just one thing-she had resistance.
Then, it simply meant the drink she brought in might also be drugged, and she might not be resistant to infused aphrodisiac.
The lady stared at him in confusion, her stomach twisting with dread. She made a simple decision to leave the box, but Davis halted her midstep. "Isn't this supposed to be a night of no interruptions?" Her mouth opened several times, hoping to say something, yet no proper words could form.
He opened the wine and poured into the cup. Slowly lifting the cup, he walked towards her, but she continuously stepped back.
"Let's have swine," he smirked, his lips curled up coldly.
The lady took a deep breath. "No, the wine is served for you, the customer, and not for me." He twirled the cup of wine in his hand, its colour enchanting. "It's not fun drinking alone, you know?" "I understand," she said, but just before the words left her lips, Davis grabbed her jaw, forcing her mouth open and the drink down her throat.
The lady panted frantically as she tried to force the drink out of her mouth, but it wasn't possible.
After a few minutes, her body language changed, and Davis decided to sit back and let her dance to the tune of the music she played.
Forcing more of the drinks down her throat, he tied her up as he waited for the drink to circulate, and at that moment Jessica cin.
~Back to Present~ Davis helped Jessica into the car, and slowly they left the hotel. In another car, the young lady was taken away.
Jessica sat with her head resting on the headrest, her eyes shut. She had taken a lot of strength to cout to seek him, and at this moment, she wanted to rest.
Davis took a deep breath. "Are you still insistent that I go for the summit?" Jessica slowly opened her eyes. "I'm not insistent, though I hoped you should attend since it's just a five days' event." "Yes, it's five days... too long," Davis muttered.
"Not too long. With almost two years in a wheelchair, away from the touch of society, you need to make the trip You to help you navigate through the changes in business," she explained with seriousness. Davis sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. It seemed there was no avoiding it.
"Alright, the summit starts in two days. After the banquet tomorrow, I will go with Ethan, but then you mu must .O.
not go out alone during my absence." His voice was worried and laced with concern. Jessica's shoulders sagged with relief. By the ttheir car pulled into Davis's estate, it was already the early hours of the morning.
The villa was already quiet and serene. Jessica, assisted by Davis, alighted from the car, and together they made their way upstairs.
As the door of the bedroom closed with a soft click, Jessica, already feeling drowsy and weak, walked straight to the bed and lay, caring little about changing out of her clothes.
Within a short period of time, her breathing evened out-a clear indication she had already drifted to dreamland. Staring at her face, Davis shook his head. "I have really stressed her out," he muttered.
With no option left for him, he took a deep breath. As he returned to the bathroom, he brought in a bowl of warm water, setting it beside the bed.
He carefully wrung out a towel and wiped off the light make-up on her face. Gently, he cleaned her hands.
After he made sure she was now okay, he helped her change out into comfortable wear before he retired for a quick bath, and after, he settled in beside her as they drifted to rest for the day
