Gabrielle quickly responded, “Whatever Mr. James is having, I’m in!”

“Ready to rumble, huh?” Charlie chuckled, glancing at Carson, “Grab a few pint glasses, and fill ’em up for Ms.

Gabrielle.”

Carson and the gang, always eager for some excitement, fetched three pint glasses, each capable of holding a

good ten ounces of liquor, and filled them to the brim, placing them before Gabrielle.

Charlie raised an eyebrow at her, “Go on then, show me how sincere Ms. Gabrielle really is!”

Gabrielle offered a sheepish grin, “You’re joking, right Mr. James?”

Carson chimed in, “Didn’t you just say you’d keep up no matter what? Or were you just pulling our leg?”

Aside from Jonathan, all the men spoke in low, gentle tones, their eyes twinkling with mirth, sending involuntary

thrills through her, making it hard for Gabrielle to gauge their true feelings.

In desperation, Gabrielle sought out Magdalen, who merely curled her lips in a faint sneer, “Can’t handle it?”

Not wanting to lose face in front of J City’s renowned bachelors, Gabrielle lifted the glass and tipped it back,

downing the drink in one go.

Three pint glasses amounting to nearly a whole bottle, Gabrielle drank it all.

For a young woman, consuming so much liquor was pitiful, but none of the onlookers showed any sign of pity,

watching with detached amusement.

Estelle didn’t move either, just watched Gabrielle drink.

After Gabrielle finished, Carson led a round of applause, “Ms. Gabrielle’s got guts!”

Gabrielle’s eyes were bloodshot, her head spinning, barely holding herself together as she looked at Charlie, “Am I

done?”

Charlie spoke indifferently, “Learn your lesson. Don’t try to show off again; not all spotlights are yours to stand

under.”

Gabrielle, her mind fuzzy, just stared blankly at Charlie.

Morrison called a waiter over to take Gabrielle away to rest.

Magdalen laughed, “She overestimated herself. Don’t let her ruin the fun, carry on. We’re heading out!”

Jonathan tugged on Estelle’s hand, “Come find me after the toast.”

Magdalen immediately pulled Estelle along, “Ella’s with me today. I’ll hand her back after the party disperses!”

With a light smile in her eyes, Estelle followed Magdalen out.

After making a few more rounds, they joined Morrison’s parents to toast Old Mr. Jarvis.

The anteroom was crowded with people waiting to visit Old Mr. Jarvis. Estelle’s gaze swept over them, spotting

Terrence Macclain among the crowd.

Estelle ignored him and entered the private room.

Inside, among the elders, Magdalen followed Morrison in toasting, her demeanor now more composed.

Geoffrey asked Estelle, “Have you eaten anything? Don’t go hungry.”

Estelle smiled softly, “I’ve eaten, don’t worry.”

Old Mr. Jarvis and Old Mr. Quintin exchanged a glance. They could tell that the Lamont family indeed held Estelle in

high regard, which pleased them.

Stepping out of the room, Estelle’s phone rang. She walked to a quiet spot and answered in a low voice, “Hello?”

After hearing what the other party said, Estelle’s face turned cold, “Don’t act on your own without news, wait for

me!”

“Three days from now!”

“Don’t call me proactively during this time. Once I’m there, I’ll find a way to contact you!”

Estelle ended the call quickly, a shadow of concern furrowing her brow as she peered through the window into the

deepening night.

“No, stop!”

Suddenly, a woman’s fragmented voice came from nearby. Estelle frowned slightly and stood up, following the

sound. She found Gabrielle being pinned against the wall in a dim corner, her clothes already half-removed.
