Chapter 1730

As Magdalen descended the staircase, both Mrs. Sampson and Mr. Sampson turned to look at her. They scrutinized

every detail on her face, attempting to know how their conversation had gone.

It seemed like she had been crying; had they not resolved their issues?

Mrs. Sampson and Mr. Sampson exchanged a glance, both feeling a touch of anxious.

Estelle, however, sat at the dining table, calmly enjoying a piece of cake.

Magdalen’s face displayed no particular expression. Though she didn’t appear as angry as before, it didn’t seem

like she was particularly pleased either.

She took a seat across from Estelle and broke the silence, “I’m getting married, and just as we discussed earlier,

you’ll be my maid of honor.”

The three in the room turned to look at her at the same time.

Magdalen gave Mrs. Sampson a quick glance, “Why are you looking at me like that? Aren’t you happy?”

“I might be so happy I’ve gone crazy!” Mrs. Sampson exclaimed in surprise, “Did you propose to Morrison?”

Magdalen furrowed her brows, “Why should I be the one proposing? Shouldn’t it be him the one proposing to me?”

Estelle chimed in, “So, who propose in the end?”

Magdalen paused for a moment before admitting, “Actually, I think I was the one who proposed!”

It was she who had first suggested “Let’s get married”, and he had agreed.

Mrs. Sampson burst into hearty laughter as if everything had gone according to her expectations, “It doesn’t matter

who proposed to whom. Don’t get hung up on the details. Getting married is a matter between you two, after all!”

After saying this, she turned to Mr. Sampson, exclaiming with excitement, “Honey, the wedding gift we’ve prepared

for years is finally ready to given away!”

Mr. Sampson nodded in agreement, “Indeed, it’s been quite a journey. We’ll raise a toast to Morrison later!”

Magdalen rolled her eyes elegantly and said to Estelle, “You see, they’re so eager to marry me off? And you said

Mrs. Sampson loves me, where’s the love?”

Mrs. Sampson patted Magdalen playfully on the head, “If we don’t love you, would we find such a wonderful man

like Morrison for you?”

“But he’s someone I found on my own!”

“You’re always making him angry, and if it weren’t for me helping you, he wouldn’t have stuck around!”

“Even if you didn’t help me, he wouldn’t run away!”

Estelle continued to enjoy her cake, watching the mother and daughter banter with a warm heart. There was even

a hint of envy within her.

Above all, she was happy for Magdalen. Her friend was finally getting to marry Morrison!

Seeing the two ladies teetering on the brink of an argument, Mr. Sampson hurriedly chimed in, “Where’s Morrison?

Why didn’t he come down with you?”

Magdalen’s eyes flickered, “He’s a bit overwhelmed and needed some time to calm down!”

Mrs. Sampson patted her chest, “It’s not a shock that he needs to recover from!”

Magdalen shot her mom with a pointed glance, “Are you trying to lose your daughter now?”

Just then, Morrison came down from upstairs, “What’s going on?”

Mrs. Sampson greeted him with a beaming smile, “Is the wedding all set?”

Morrison nodded, “Yes, I’ll have my parents come over tomorrow to discuss the wedding date with you and dad.

We can also settle the other details.”

Estelle asked, “How long until the wedding? I’ll design Magdalen’s wedding dress.”

“No need!” Magdalen shook her head with a smile, “I want to wear the one you designed for me earlier.”

She had tried on that dress to show Morrison. And she was sure that Morrison dreamed of her in that dress; she

wanted to make his dream come true.

Morrison added, “The wedding dress has been well-preserved, and Estelle’s designs never go out of style. If

Magdalen likes it, there’s no need to change it!”
