Chapter 1729

“I suffered from insomnia for a long time. When I occasionally fell asleep, it was plagued by the same recurring

nightmare where we were planning our wedding, and you were walking towards me, only to vanish suddenly.”

“During the two years Estelle was abroad, we hardly saw each other. You spent most of your time with her. And

when you did come back, it was to handle business affairs, then you’d rush off again.”

“It was when Estelle returned that you could finally by my side in peace. However, by then, I didn’t dare to bring up

the topic of our wedding again. It felt like if Estelle and Jonathan didn’t have their wedding and settled down, our

relationship would remain unstable.”

“I can’t bear the devastating sense of loss from three years ago ever again!”

Magdalen went from astonishment to listening with tears welling up in her eyes, her voice choked, “Why didn’t you

tell me these things sooner?”

“I thought I was the only one who cared about that wedding. It wasn’t until I heard what Kevin said that I realized

you cared too!” Morrison gently wiped her tears away with his hand, his gaze deep, “Don’t cry. I didn’t tell you

because I wanted you to live freely, without constraints. Even if you run off with Estelle for another two years, I

would still be here waiting for you. But remember, you can have your fun, just don’t stay away from home, and

don’t even think about breaking up with me, unless you want me dead!”

Staring at him with tear-filled eyes, Magdalen asked, “Are you threatening me?”

Morrison pulled her into his arms and chuckled, “Yes, I am. Does it bother you?”

“What do you think?” Magdalen looked up at him, “Morrison, you’ve got me all figured out?”

With a soft smile, Morrison leaned in to kiss her moist eyes, “Of course, you dared to climb into my bed at eighteen.

I’ve given you everything. Will you dare not to be responsible for me?”

Wrapping her arms around him, she buried her face in his chest, “Morrison, let’s get married!”

Holding her tightly, he agreed, “Okay, I promise you! But this time, no more backing out. Even if you run to the ends

of the earth, I’ll bring you back.”

Magdalen nodded with a choked voice, “No backing out. I want to marry you. It’s a goal the first time I saw you. It’s

been a long time and it’s about time to make it happen”

Morrison held her chin to make her look up. Seeing her tear-stained face, he couldn’t help but want to laugh.

“No laughing allowed!” Magdalen protested.

Morrison’s gaze deepened as he lowered his head to plant a kiss on her lips, passionately intertwining her tongue.

Magdalen slowly leaned back against the sofa, tilting her head slightly to respond to the fervent kiss.

Their white Persian cat meowed softly, jumped onto the railing, and leaped into the garden below.

Morrison’s breath quickened, his gaze burning, “Missed me?”

“Yes!” Magdalen’s eyes sparkled, her gaze tracing over Morrison’s lips, “I’ve missed you like crazy!”

“Then why did you talk about breaking up?” Morrison’s voice was husky as he kissed her as if punishment.

Gripping his shirt, Magdalen bit her lip, “We can’t do that. Ella is waiting for me downstairs.’

Morrison paused, taking a deep breath, “We’ll go home after dinner!”

Magdalen laughed, wrapping her arms around him, “I already promised Ella to hang out with her this afternoon”

“Jonathan might be waiting for Estelle at home. Let’s not disturb them!” suggested Morrison.

Magdalen laughed again and pushed him away, “Let’s go eat first!”

Morrison sat up, slowly buttoning his shirt, “You go ahead.”

Magdalen gave him a playful glance, and then she went over to the vanity to fix her smeared makeup and reapply

her lipstick before heading downstairs.
