Chapter 1724

Morrison narrowed his eyes slightly and asked, “Is this a provocation?”

“No! Kevin responded sternly, “Magdalen has already broken up with you. I have the right to pursue her, and

besides, I will love her more than you do!”

“More than I do?” Morrison smirked coldly, “Do you know exactly how much I love her?”

Kevin replied, “I don’t know, but I won’t flirt with other women, making her always on guard; I won’t make her

angry. Even if she is, I will comfort her, make amends with her, not letting her be in constant worry. I will look

forward to marrying her every day, loving her, spoiling her, and treating her well for a lifetime!”

Magdalen looked at Kevin in shock.

Morrison’s eyes were gloomy. “There are many who want to be good to her, but she will only belong to me!”

“You’re right!” Magdalen suddenly spoke, yet she was addressing Kevin.

Morrison frowned as he turned to look at Magdalen.

But Magdalen didn’t even bother to glance at her. She only told Kevin, “You’re right, my life could be much better.

Why should I be constantly worried about a man? Why should I pin my hopes for happiness on a man?”

“Magdalen.” Kevin looked at her in surprise.

Magdalen gave a flamboyant smile. “Thank you! Thanks for your words and the meal you cooked me!”

She stood up and headed towards the master bedroom. “I need to catch up on sleep now. Could you two please

leave and close the door on your way out?”

Kevin stared at her back, feeling a bit delighted. Did Magdalen mean that he could compete fairly with Morrison?

Morrison seemed to see through Kevin’s thoughts. His deep eyes hidden behind his glasses were unfathomable as

he slowly said, “Do you think cooking her a meal and buying her a few bunches of flowers is loving her?”

Kevin snorted coldly, “That’s better than doing nothing at all!”

Morrison smirked and sat back on the sofa, lighting a cigarette. Amidst the smoke, he said, “She enjoys floral

arrangement. I accompanied her to classes for three months. Our apartment’s yard is filled with plants that I

brought from all over the world, all maintained by me; she hurt her back horseback riding in college. It aches

whenever it rains, and even medication is useless. I have to stay up all night to take care of her. I even learned to

massage for her. She seerns mature and stable, but she’s actually as capricious as a child. She likes to stay up late;

she likes to drink. Once she starts she goes all out, and only I can keep her in check! Her father’s health wasn’t

good, so she took over the family business early. The business world is complex. The struggle for interests is cruel

and dangerous, yet she still lives carefree after all these years. Who do you think has been shielding her from the

storm? You think you love her, but it’s just because you share some interests. You both like car racing and staying

up late to watch games. She is straightforward. She’s not fussy, compared to Antonia. Being with her is more

comfortable, but do you really understand her, and can you accept all of her?”

Kevin was taken aback. Looking at Morrison’s calm and serious face, he was at a loss for words.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t do all the things Morrison said, but in front of Morrison who had protected Magdalen for

eight years, his so-called love seemed insignificant.

Kevin thought for a moment and said, “I admire your dedication to Magdalen, but it’s also true that you’ve made

her upset. Magdalen is also giving your relationship a second thought!”

Morrison was firm. “She will only love me, and can only love me!”

Kevin was stubborn. “I won’t give up. I will make myself stronger, and one day, I can do whatever you can do for

Magdalen!”

Morrison scoffed, “But for now, she’s still my fiancée. Before I lose my temper, you better leave!”

Kevin looked towards the direction of the master bedroom, picked up his belongings and walked out. He stopped at

the door, turned to look at the man sitting on the sofa, his face showing the obstinacy and defiance typical of a

young man. “Me leaving now doesn’t mean I’m giving up. I will strive to become stronger!”

With that, Kevin opened the door and left.

Morrison rubbed his temples and got up, heading towards the master bedroom. He tried to push the door open, but

it was locked.

He knocked on the door and said softly, “Come home once you’ve cooled off. Your favorite flower has bloomed.

If you don’t come back in three days, I’m going to get rid of all of them!”
