"Damn it Aubrey, I told you to wakethe moment she woke up." "I've been trying Alpha." "I'm coming now..." I leap out of bed grabbing my jeans and finding a fresh tshirt from my drawers. I needed a shower, to wash off the smell of whiskey, but that would have to wait. "". '...how is she?" "She's not good. She had to be sedated back to sleep in the end." Fuck! I'm back at the hospital in record time. Vaguely remembering which corridors to go down, the memory of carrying Kaia in my arms still too raw.
I find her room, Aubrey sitting next to her on the hospital chair, talking to her...but Kaia seems vacant. Her eyes blank.

"How are you feeling?" At first she completely ignores me, and I wonder if she actually heard me.
When I go to ask the squestion again, her head turns to look at me. Her eyes red and puffy from the tears she must have shed, yet still hold an unrelenting strength to glare at me.

He was right, she needed sspace and if granting her that helped her to recovery, then so be it. But first she needs to letexplain. "Alright Kaia, if that is what you want. But not until you have returned to the alpha house to letexplain." I give her space, asking Aubrey to return and remain with her until she was discharged.

At 9pm, an incredibly tired Aubrey checks on Kaia with a plate of food but finds her sleeping soundly. She must need the rest, her body recovering and needing tto heal.
