Bernard's job was shrouded in secrecy, a common trait among those of his particular profession. When he reached his destination,
he rapped on the door with a sense of urgency.
Bernard, dressed in casual wear, answered the door with a welcoming smile at the sight of lan.
"So, you've retrieved the base intel? The higher-ups have been considering a reward for you—a privilege. What's on your wish list?"
A privilege?
lan had everything that cwith his position. A smirk played at the corner of his lips. "So, | can ask for anything?"
"Absolutely. The intel is crucial. Even those penny pinchers have to cough up ssort of bounty."
"Then let's book the Grand Hall for a wedding. Maja and | are going to tie the knot there."
Bernard, who had been pouring tea, froze, his brows knitting together in surprise. The Grand Hall was typically reserved for elite
assemblies and was never open to the public, let alone for wedding ceremonies.
If lan pulled this off, he'd be setting a precedent.
Bernard chuckled. "Here | was, thinking you'd ask for something to pad your retirement fund."
"The kid's not even born yet. Maja and | can wait. But if we could do it there, it would be quite the event. She'd love it."

wedding venue.
Bernard massaged his temples. "Shouldn't be a problem. You can have it for a month."
"Bernard, it's a deal. But is this what you calledhere for?"
"No, it's about Patric. My guys spotted him in North America. You know the fight clubs there are your turf. You're the best at
tracking people down. Find Patric and bring him to me. We've got squestions about the experimental data."
lan didn't protest. He was the one who had taken Patric in the first place.
"Bernard, did the old timers say what they're gonna do with Patric?"
Patric's body was, after all, Eric's. lan didn't want him to cto harm.
"They just mentioned a thorough check-up."
Relieved, lan sank into a nearby chair, rubbing his temples. Ever since he arrived, an itching sensation gnawed at him more
fiercely, as if something sinister was coaxing it from within, making him uneasy.
"You not feeling well, lan?"
He shook his head, "Just a bit dizzy."
"Then head back and rest up. I've got nothing more for you here."
"Alright."
As he stood and walked out, lan had the urge to claw at his own skin, to rid himself of the unbearable itch.
Bernard watched lan leave, concern in his voice. "By the way, that Dr. Sarah you mentioned, she'll probably be coming by too.
She's from the research facility, probably knows a thing or two about the data."
"Bernard, | need to give her a heads-up. She's about to head back to North America, currently overseeing Mr. Sanders's condition."
"I'm aware. Just thought she should stick around in Greenfield until we get Patric back."
lan hesitated but agreed, wary of getting involved with the research facility, fearing it might exacerbate his condition.
His thoughts were consumed with marrying Maja and ensuring she and their child remained safe.
Back in the car, his driver Jeff noticed lan's pallor and furrowed his brows with concern.
"Mr. Raymond, you've been restless. Maybe get ssleeping pills?"
Without proper rest, his health would surely suffer.
lan wanted to reply, but the overwhelming sensation surged again, demanding all his attention.
