Maja had been sitting in the coffee shop, browsing through the documents she had received, ever since Antonia
left.

home by now.
She had been busy all day, checking in with several production teams to ensure that current projects were running
smoothly. Now back at the office, she planned to continue dealing with Antonias matter.
As she opened the door to her office, she noticed the lights were off She turned them on and was about to sit down
when Zoey entered, handing her
some document.
“Ms. Pennyfeather, this is the file you’ll need for tomorrow. Also, Shawn dropped by this afternoon but left.”
“Did I tell him to stay at home?”
“He’s probably worried. After all, we’ve all been working overtime because of his situation.”
Maja rubbed between her eyebrows, feeling sorry for the innocent Shawn.

After Zoey left, Maja walked over to the adjoining rest area where lan was curled up on the couch.
He hadn’t slept on the small bed, but on the two–seater sofa. At six feet tall, he had to curl up to fit
He must have been exhausted, not even waking up at the sound of them talking
Maja didn’t turn on the light She approached him, using the light filtering in from the window
His sleeping posture was peaceful, probably from waiting for a long time, perhaps even skipping dinner
Maja didn’t want to disturb him, but she was worried about him skipping a meal and triggering his stomach issues,
so she gently nudged his shoulder
To others, lan was a formidable figure in the business world, someone to be feared and alienated
Now that Eric was back, everyone was hoping for him to regain his former position
Eric was known to give people a chance, unlike lan who would never let his opponents off the hook
Maja gently stroked his hair, watching as he opened his eyes
