Nash's phone still wouldn't connect, and Nina's frustration kept building.
Just then, Zoe called. In her irritation, Nina vented about everything that had happened that day and what she planned to do next.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZoe suggested they meet at a bar on the outskirts of town, just a few minutes from where Nina was. Knowing Zoe was considering her convenience, Nina walked over to the bar. She had barely arrived when they pulled up. "Mrs. York, I heard you're looking to investigate someone," Eugene said bluntly as he got out of the car.
Nina nodded and handed him a photo of Madison. "I've heard her husband is skind of manager at a company. Find out where he works. She tried to havekilled, so I'll make sure her whole life falls apart." Eugene didn't bat an eye at the intensity of her words. After getting Nina and Zoe settled into a private room, he quickly left to arrange the investigation.
Not even ten minutes later, Eugene returned to the room and handed Nina a printed report.
Madison's husband, Roy Lynch, was a procurement manager at one of the hotels under York Corporation. It was quite a cushy position.
The report also mentioned another key detail. Roy had a mistress, Mabel Green, who was currently pregnant and living in a suburban area. Even more interesting, Roy's own mother was helping take care of her. "As they say, those you feel sorry for usually have sfault that's hard to overlook," Zoe remarked with a slight sigh.
Nina smirked coldly. "You feel sorry for her? Imagine if someone without my skills had been in my place today. Who would deserve pity then?" She turned to Eugene. "Mr. Lowe, I need a favor. I want Madison to find out about Mabel, but it can't cfrom me." Eugene laughed heartily. Clearly intrigued by her request, he leaned in and said in a low voice, "Don't worry, making trouble is what I do best. Expect sfireworks by tomorrow. There's definitely going to be a show." The sooner the better, Nina thought. Nothing like swift justice to lift one's spirits.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAs the city fell into a deep sleep, the night grew quiet. In his office, Nash finally returned from a long meeting. Exhausted, he sipped a bitter cup of coffee to stay awake when his phone rang. It was Pharaoh. Nash quickly answered, treating the call with respect. "Father, is there something you need this late?" "Nash, I want to know what's going on with you, Are you not paying enough attention to my daughter and grandson? A while ago, someone bullied my grandson And today, there was another incident. Nina was almost kidnapped! Did you know that?" Nash was stunned. Nina had told him she was just out shopping with other parents. How could she have been kidnapped? He couldn't process it, so he pressed for more details. After hearing Pharaoh's account, his expression darkened.
"I've sent you the information about those involved. Nash, I don't want to see something like this happen again. If does, don't blme if take them both back to live with me. And trust me, if that happens, it won't be easy for you to see them again." Pharaoh was furious, and Nash understood why. He didn't argue. He simply apologized and promised to make things right.
He didn't want anything to happen to Nina and Orion either. Today's events were a serious oversight on his part.
After reading the email Pharaoh sent, Nash called the rest of his Secretary to delegate work, then rushed home.
When he walked through the door, he found Nina sipping coffee. He immediately rushed over her Pichever and hugged tightly. Peeling that something was off, Nina was startled. "What's going on? Why are you acting like this?"
"Just lethold you. You must have been so scared today. It's my fault. I promised to spend the day with you and Orion at the field day, but I ran off to work instead. It's all my fault." X
