Elias rubbed his nose, a little embarrassed. "Well, can't the two of you arrange a date? I'm running out of ideas.
You're a great friend; helpget set up!"
Lukas chuckled, "Don't worry. When the tis right, I'll take you out to dinner."
Elias responded with a thumbs up and a playful gunshot, "Pew pew! Oh, Lukas! | knew I could count on you!"
Lukas just smiled.
Elias leaned back on the sofa and rested his hands on the arms of the couch. "Do you have tfor lunch? Let's
eat together."
Lukas was unfazed as he replied, "I have a lunch date with my girlfriend."
Elias raised his eyebrows in disbelief. "Wow, your adaptability is impressive! Now your wife is your girlfriend!"
Lukas gave him a mysterious look, "You don't understand, this means a change in our relationship."
Elias nearly choked on his own laughter. He put on a look of defeat and said, "Fine! You win, | surrender! You're
drivingcrazy today. I'm leaving. Let all those who want to hear your girlfriend's retorts cand hear them. |

With that, Elias got up, opened the door, and walked out.
Lukas knew he had no pressing business to attend to, so he simply waved him off.
At about noon, Reese received a Whatmessage from Lukas.
Lukas: Cto my office for lunch. What would you like to eat? I'll have Martins order for you.
Reese: Let's not, it's not appropriate to be seen!
Lukas: What's wrong? We're in a committed relationship. What is there to hide? Or do you not want others to
know that I'm your boyfriend?
The message from Lukas surprised Reese. She had kept her marriage to him a secret before, and there had been
thoughts of keeping their new relationship a secret as well. But the situation was different now. They were
officially a couple, and if she kept their relationship a secret, Lukas would probably be hurt.
With that in mind, she was quick to clarify things through text.
Reese: It's not that we don't want people to know about us. | just feel that, especially at work, we should be
subtle about it. Let's let things develop naturally and the people who need to know will figure it out!
Lukas: Then let's not worry about what other people think and let's have lunch together in my office. If you're
worried about drawing too much attention to yourself, | can ask Martins to keep an eye on things.
Reese: ...
She wondered what Martins, the versatile assistant, would think if the CEO would ask him to watch.
Lukas: Baby, | miss you.
Reese blushed quickly at the sight of Lukas' message. Even though she'd been restless all morning and the
image of Lukas had been replaying in her mind, his message still made her feel embarrassed.
Reese: Don't tease me; it's only been one morning since we've seen each other!

Lukas: Baby, I'm serious. The moment we parted this morning, | started missing you. A day without seeing you
feels like a three-year fall. There are twenty-four hours in a day, and we've been separated from each other for
almost four hours now. That's a sixth of three years, so it's been almost half a year since our last meeting!
Reese: Should | compliment you on your math skills?
Lukas: Baby, | really miss you. If | don't see you, | might have to go to the design department to find you!
Reese stared at the screen of her cell phone, her face grew warm and her ears began to tingle. She had not
expected Lukas to be so affectionate and clingy in a relationship.
Reese: Don't be silly. I'll wait for everyone in the design department to leave. Then I'll cupstairs and find
you!
Lukas: It feels like we're sneaking around like teenagers!
Reese: ...
Lukas: It's okay, baby, nothing to worry about. It's kind of exciting!
Reese: | do not have the right words for you!
